told I had ms let the state blood bank know this and they said it was fine as long as I was not in
drug treatment stage, I wasn't. what really caught my attention to donate was the radio addvertised they were screening all blood for lyme.
it was babbesia they were searching for.
I never heard from them so I contacted and they told me that my donation was indeed cleared
for use. I am coming back to life and it is slow painful ride. there is only one competent dr
in state.

But how good is the clearing system? Did they check for babesia?
I will never donate blood again due to Lyme and babesia.

I donated prior to lyme dx and before babesia made me too anemic to donate. (A blessing in disguise).
It makes me sick to think of all the ill people and children who got my infected blood.
I lose sleep over this a lot.
Our government is turning a blind eye to this

I know, Greta. I donated once about 35 yrs ago. I didn't know I had Lyme and babesia. They injured a nerve in my arm, so I never was willing to do it again. (another blessing in disguise!)
I'm a small person and I think that needle was too large for me and that is why it damaged my arm. I wouldn't let anyone take blood from that arm for at least 20 yrs.
I'm praying not very many people got sick from that! Perhaps we saved a few lives, Greta. Look at it that way!
