Hi Everyone. I will work up to 6 grams of MSM a day. If it helps I may do IVs.

What brand do you take? What dosage? Does it help you?

I've taken it for at least 15 yrs. Can't even remember how far back.

I take NOW brand most of the time. It's gluten, sugar, yeast, soy free.

I do feel that it helps me. I think I take about 4,000 mg a day. I'll check tomorrow on the dosage.

I take 10 grams of MSM twice daily. I buy the vitacost brand. It certainly helps me and I know if I forget to take it. I do add Tumeric daily too.

Thank you both - that's very helpful.

yes , just started. I had a herx like reaction to a tiny amount , but am continuing. I think it binds with metals and I probably need a metal detox. Most people have NO reaction. It is already helping my nails grow STRONG.

You can read many reviews on it at iherb and at amazon. They are convincing and may swear it helps with pain and with better hair , skin and nails . Some people do have a herx reaction for a while- though it passes. I am taking a tiny amount and my nails are totally stronger .

ms dixie.

My nails are a wreck. I think that the state of one's nails are a good indicator of one's health.

I'm starting today working up to 6 grams will report back.

I really love the MSM vitamin C packs. I feel different after drinking those.

My Husband takes MSM for his joints (damage from long-term steroids).

Before he started taking the MSM, he was becoming disabled from the joint pain and instability and weakness.

Since he began the MSM, he has no joint pain. He has taken up hiking on weekends, and his joints are strong and stable.

I took it for a year at a high dose for joint pain. Sorry to say, it did nothing.

I just did a methylation profile and it said MSM wouldn't be a good supplement for me. I guess it was right.

I take MSM, glucosamine (sometimes I add chondroitin) and cucurmin three times a day.

My DD takes 12 grams per day in her smoothie. We buy the kind from the local animal supply store for horses. It's exactly the same thing they package for humans and is much cheaper.

you know i have tried it a few time and it doesnt seem to help

i do have the hla 2 and 4 ... i know that makes me get arthritis from Bb but i dont understand about the detox - so maybe that is why it doesnt work for me

curcumin and cosamin ds are really helpful...i would not be able to walk if i gave up cosamin

I took it for 6 months faithfully. High dose.

Noticed zero help with joint pain or swelling.

Had my mthfr genetic testing done...

Some mutation that prevents proper useage of sulfur?

Anyways, I think that's why it didn't work.

A fellow I work with takes it three times a day and swears by it.

I can see that my nails are improving within a matter of days. The link above mentions all the benefits.

I take the MSM Vit C packs and mix in another 1 gm, taking a total of six grams a day.

I'm taking it because my doc recommended it, this along with succinate acid.
