What brand do you use and is it helpful. I know Lee Silsby Esana is popular

I use NOW brand. I buy it at Swanson's Vitamins because it's cheaper.

It works well. I take 3 a day.

Meriva is bioavailable curcumin-- there are a lot of studies showing it is better absorbed. There is also a curcumin by Longvida that is well absorbed.

I used Thorne Meriva-500 .

I used 1 capsule, 3 times a day.

Had a bad time with it.

Had auditory issues with it.

Eg: when the fan was on in the kitchen, I could hear my neighbours arguing. Finally, I had enough. When I turned the stove and fan off, and went to clean up to go over and phone them to tell them to pipe down, there was no arguing.

It was my brain getting mixed up with the white noise.

This happened with all sorts of noise the whole bottle of Meriva. It was very unnerving.

I haven't tried curcumin since. It didn't help my knees.

But I think I may be allergic to it.

I have tried many brands over the years, including latterly, the Thorne Meriva.

I have never noticed any reaction of any sort, so am not taking it at present.

I use Thorne Meriva. I did try less expensive brands but feel That the Thorne brand is best absorbed.

Greta, go back to one capsule daily and don't go up until you can tolerate the one capsule. You can herx in the beginning as this is an anti inflammatory.

There is also a lot of info out there suggesting that Tumeric helps fight alzheimers.

What else is in the Thorne brand? Fillers, etc?

If you have trouble with phenols, you may have trouble with curcumin.

It can cause a die off, for sure. Start low.

Tumeric I take daily, I like Enhansa or Longvida. I have tried Thorne, but like the other 2 better.

I had a nose surgery some years back- when off Curcumin, I see the slight swelling there increase, back on it, decrease.

Curcumin continues to flush out stuff from my gut.
I do take higher doses of it.
It definitely is anti- inflammatory.

Alzheimer's scares me greatly, having seen my grandmother with it, and thinking I was destined for the same fate before I found out I had chronic Lyme disease,

so Curcumin and coconut oil are 2 daily staples for me.

I am going to my general insurance Dr. (whom I've seen all of 3 times) next week to ask for a prescription for Enhansa-

I can't keep paying full price for it, and love the stuff.

Enhansa is a prescription? Hmmm.... that would actually help me.

Look on Lee Silsby pharmacy and the lyme doctor video. They are the makers of Enhansa. The doctor made a statement that 80-90% of patients had this covered by insurance.

I use turmeric extract by Source Naturals, and it is my main anti-inflammatory/pain killer along with Kyolic garlic, Formula 100 (odorless, and pure aged garlic)

It is the only pain killer I have needed since terrible symptoms during June & July last summer.

Within a few weeks my symptoms were very mild. And, except for increasing brain fog ( later helped with amygdalin foods like apple seeds), and a little peripheral neuropathy, my symptoms have remained mild for 6 months since July.

I take 2tabs with breakfast, and 1 or 2 depending on symptoms, with dinner, along with 2 caps of Kyolic garlic at both.

Granted, my symptoms were so bad at first that if it increased symptoms for a few days, I would not have known the difference.

But since about 10 days after my worst symptoms, they were almost completely eased and have remained eased except for a week when I took VitD supps which aggravated my symptoms and then I stopped the D.

I have taken no pain medication since my worst symptoms, and they didn't work anyway.

I swear by this tumeric and garlic for inflammation/symptoms.

About a month after I started the turmeric, I added NOW resveratrol (from japanese knotweed) which also is anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and has helped me lose weight, too. So I also recommend that as anti-inflammatory.

What research I read during bad symptoms was that if you stop the inflammation, you hinder the Bb and stop the pain symptoms. Then my health food store recommended turmeric for inflammation.
