my doctor says that there is no way i could have parasites, and im thinking i might since i havent responded to antibiotics too well. my symptoms are fatigue, achiness, gas and bloating, muscle pain, joint pain, headaches, tmj, light sensitivity, and cognitive issues. could a parasite cause these symptoms? if so, is there a specific one that you can think of so i can explain this to my doctor? and is there a medication that is used to treat lyme but also kills parasites that i could ask my doctor to prescribe so i dont even have to ask him to treat me for parasites?

Try a herbal parasite remedy first.
Parasite Warriors thread has tons of ideas.
If you have a parasite infection,
it's not as simple as 1 script from your Doc, then done.

Here is a link to the "Parasite Warrior Support Thread"

http://flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=122300;p=0

Btw - please break up your posts into 2-3 sentence paragraphs, as there are people on Lymenet who cannot read large blocks of text due to neurological problems from Lyme. Thanks.

TMJ, gas and bloating? Yes yes yes!

Hallmark symptoms.

Honestly, reading feedback from everyone, unless you're doing a Dr. K type parasite treatment, the herbal tinctures DO work better, IMO, than a single "dewormer" etc.

The CDC (ugh hate referencing them), has a list on their website about the 5 neglected north American parasites. The numbers may surprise you.

Don't forget, traditional "non pathogenic" parasites, protazoa can affect those of us with weakened immune systems differently than the healthy populations.

The Parasite Warriors thread here is a fairly safe one with safe advice.

Some of the other parasite treatment forums on the web have some dangerous ideas, and some bad ideas.

And some wingnuts. Just a heads up.

But the support thread here is benign and fairly safe as far as treatments tried, if you have any questions.

Katrinab

Byron White AP was the first thing I took to treat and felt just amazing on it.

I've gone on and off several things over time.

It's all unique to the individual. There are a ton of great products out there.

I like the Kroeger Herbals like Rascal and the combo with the wormwood in it.

I personally do well in not staying on a rigid months long treatment. I think it's good to pulse with this stuff, just like with antibiotics and other herbals as well.

Just my two cents worth!

I took Humaworm and felt it worked well. It also hit some babesia and some yeast.

Docs miss parasites all the time. IMO, most of them don't know the reality of the situation, nor can they grasp it (trained to believe parasites are not an issue in the US), so I wouldn't even bother trying to convince your doc right now.

Ditto what Surprise said.

Everyone has parasites so your doc is wrong. Not everyone gets really sick from them but we all have them. All of your symptoms you list can be from parasites. Most people have many different types.
