While this was discussed earlier can I suggest that patients ask their lyme doctors using glutathione or its pre-cursors about the claims of this study that glutathione may increase babesia. I have tried to email several doctors without any response.

Jcarl-that is interesting.

I use glutathione and it helps me.

I also have babesia. (clinical dx).

I will ask my doc. Thanks for posting this.

Our daughter started taking glutathione mid August and babesia symptoms started showing up early September and her 8/29 blood draw tested positive for duncani.

First time she tested positive for babesia and we though 2 years on mepron / zith had taken care of this.

Never heard of Glut. increasing Babs. I would get monthly IV pushes from my LLMD and continue to use Lip. Glut. on a daily basis. I certainly notice a positive difference on it. I have been Babs free (or at least symptom free) for close to a year now.

Maybe its because certain glutathione, IV and oral, can increase yeast overgrowth. Symptoms of that are just like babs and protozoa.

I think the benefits of glutathione trump everything, even risks of increasing babs, which I've never heard of. But we are all shooting in the dark for the most part so who knows.

i am taking glutathione IM, which is taken at the same dose and frequency as the IVs (per llmd, you would have to take at least a half a bottle or more of oral to get any benefits). I have both babs microti and duncani. I can't believe this llmd on the ILADS board would give me something that would increase production of babs. I will ask him about it at next appt. I hope this isn't true. sunny

How does Glut increase yeast? Very curious as I suffer from systemic yeast AND take Glut. Would love to hear more about the connection.
