I haven't posted in a while..I have been in treatment for 10 isn years. I've been on lots of different combos, have bags, etch, bart, and lyme.
In December I started riphamin with min and zith, and I started feeling so much better. All the weight gain and water retention went away. Lost about 12 pounds, started feeling better.
I am not sure if that was bart of babs. My CD 57 remains low around 30's.
I'm currently on riphamin (pulse), mino (not great at taking it), zith, and thyroid meds.
I started hot yoga and I love it. I never thought I would be into yoga, let alone hot yoga..but about 12-24 hours after I feel so tired. I can barely stay awake. My ears turn red at night, I feel like I am getting sick, like sinus congestion and headaches and stuff and I am very nauseous. Sometimes I get light headed and dizzy in class with weak balance, but I just sit down.
I'm wondering if anyone else has done hot yoga and how it's affected them. I do feel better over all. I've been able to keep the weight off, I can move easily, I feel stronger and my balance is better.
Thanks,

clearly I still have lyme brain with all those typo's! I have bart, bags, and erchlichia in addition to lyme. We're pretty sure the erchlica is gone, but can't really figure out if bart or babs is more active.

It is great you are feeling better overall!
I think hot yoga may be too much according to your response. Hot yoga does not appeal to me for a number of reasons. I believe yoga itself can be very beneficial. Have you tried a regular yoga class? Maybe you could tolerate it better.
Weight-lifting is also very beneficial.

Not sure, but borellia has a heat shock protein it makes to protect itself from fevers.
Maybe the hot yoga heat "simulates" a fever to the Bb bugs, and they secrete/make this protein, which causes inflammation/your symptoms 12 hours later?
I don't even know how Bb makes the heat shock protein. Maybe they shed it when it gets hot?
All I know is it protects them from fevers up to 108 degrees.
So maybe it riles them up?
Just brainstorming here.
I have neuro lyme too...what typos?

Remember what Burrascano says about T cell depression 12-24 hrs after exercise (more pronounced so with certain exercise it should be avoided). That said, yoga is so good for us. It clears the lymph glands really well.
So I think if it wipes you out that much you may need to limit your class time. Maybe you can do half the class? Those classes get really hot too, so you probably are getting rid of lots of toxins from sweating.
I know for me, I feel much better after I sweat, but I have to limit how much I do or I wipe myself out.

Curious. Remember to reduce inflammation...cold. SOME inflammation is necessary for healing, but ongoing and/or excessive ...is not good.

I agree with trying regular yoga or cutting back on the length of time you do the hot yoga. It doesn't sound like it's good for you.

Interesting..The classes are all different. I definitely tolerate the power hour sculpt classes with weights better then the the other types that last 90 minutes.
I feel something with my sinuses and ears being cleared but then 12-24 hours later I feel sick, like inner ear, sore throat, not a clear head..I feel so good and then it's like bam! And then the fatigue hits me..I really like the work out and I think i am detoxing in a positive way..but I will try to see if I do like 1/2 class if that will help.
THanks,

I, too have had problems with hot yoga! Chronic Lyme, diagnosed in 2012, after 10 years of health problems. Suspected POTS (looking into getting tested).
Over several months I went semi-regularly, but never improved. The sweating sure was a nice detox, but I couldn't get through the class without feeling nauseous or even needing to leave the room. My last attempt was a bust--I ended up leaving the room to recover and passed out on the bathroom floor. I think I'll wait til I'm healthy to try again
My symptoms became more severe for the following day or two, as well. Fatigue, nausea, brain fog, elevated heart rate.
