Have been on activated charcoal, chlorella and smilax for about two full weeks now, just added Malarone.

Chlorella is with B/L/D, charcoal can only squeeze in after midnight and smilax in morning.

For the past two days my urination frequency has been insane. It's been frequent since starting, but not like this.

For example yesterday at work I peed at 745, 825, 940, 1050, 1210, 1250, 215, 300, 410 and 455.

Lots of volume and at times clear or very pale yellow, my water intake was minimal- 22 oz. in an 8 hour period.

Once I got ready for bed, I was up almost every hour and after taking charcoal at 1230 am, I was up two hours later.

I also have IC, so certain foods can trigger frequent urination.

I did eat Greek yogurt, which for some reason triggers it.

It seems to me with all of the output, it can't be good without an input to match. I do feel a tad lightheaded this morning.

I know the smilax acts as a diuretic and also promotes sweating.

I am assuming the chlorella and smilax are doing their detox magic, but can't imagine peeing like this every day.

Today I only took the charcoal and am giving my body a rest and will stay away from the yogurt, chlorella and smilax until tomorrow.

Just wondering if this is a normal reaction to all of this and should I be worried about dehydration or an electrolyte imbalance.

When I work on detoxification of toxins that are released through the kidneys, I have gotten UTI symptoms and even ended up in the hospital with a kidney infection. I'd slow down on detox if you're having these symptoms and maybe let your doctor know. Kidney infections are serious. I was in the hospital for four days.

Drinking extra water often helps flush it out faster, and counter-intuitively, ends up making me go less often.

Are you taking anything with benadryl in it? that caused my frequent urination....

Not taking any thing with Benadryl/

I have many food triggers that will cause this, but never to this extent.

So far today at work, I've had to go a bit more than usual, but nothing like the past two days.

I'll reintroduce each pill one at a time to see if I can pinpoint which causes the biggest issue.

Yogurt will almost always cause frequent urination and/or pain for an IC patient.

So will bananas. I can't remember the others, but you could find info at www.ic-network.com (or org??) and www.ichelp.org

If you are peeing that much, you do need to watch the electrolytes.

100% better by yesterday evening.

Took one chlorella this morning and will take the other two with lunch and dinner and see how that goes.

Will stay away from yogurt from now on, as much as I love it. I was trying to get a filling protein in that would help keep me full, especially after workouts.

If all goes well, will add the smilax back into the mix.

I figure if it starts back up, I may have to reduce chlorella to once or twice a day or skip a day.

Thanks for all of the responses, much appreciated!
