Hi, So I'm on my 4th round of doxy for anaplasmosis. The past couple of weeks I have been feeling much better. The past year, I have been able to eat non-stop, healthy food, but still non-stop. I haven't gained a pound. If anything, I've lost weight. Now, I'm gaining weight all while eating the same stuff. Could this mean I'm finally recovering? Thank you, Isabel

Hi Isabel
I am no expert on this. But have read lots of experiences where either too skinny folks are able to gain muscle and weight when they start to get better, and also where too plump folks are able to lose weight while getting better.
For me, before treating, I kept gaining weight even when barely eating anything and exercising like crazy by playing sports. I was 200 lbs when I started lyme and co treatment.
I stopped exercising from pain and exhaustion, and also my docs orders, and still eat the same.
Now a year later I'm down to 170lbs and my mom and grandma are starting to give me heck about making sure to eat more. Haha.
I am feeling better than I did when I started treatment. I think body systems normalize when the immune system catches a break with treatment.
Perhaps it's the same for you now too. That's really exciting Posted by Catgirl (Member # 31149) on :
It's hard to say. I always gained a few lbs on abx. Then when I went off I lost it. I think the meds kill a few parasites as well as stir some of them up, so weight/hunger fluctuates.

Maybe you now have candida/yeast. It can sure make you gain.
