I had my hair cut and she used tea tree shampoo cause she said it would help with the sores on the back of my head.
it didnt burn. she tried to get me to buy the shampoo and conditioner for 47 dollars but I cant afford that.
any shampoo that would help with this gosh awful itching on the lower back of my head.

Peppermint oil may help. Can make peppermint tea and apply that to the itchy area. Peppermint is antifungal too, just not as strong as tea tree.
Also, I use Giovanni Tea Tree Triple Treat shampoo & conditioner to help with scalp itching. It is way cheaper than $47...

It's probably yeast... try Nizoral if desperate.
There are a ton of organic shampoos with tea tree oil that are in the $10-15 dollar range.
and as for oils.. I think rosemary oil also works for scalp issues
hmm... found it right away. A few years ago I could not find it anywhere.

I only use tea tree shampoo/conditioner. A bit drying in my long hair but the only thing that keeps my scalp from getting nervy.
I will add my own peppermint oil to it as well.
You should be able to find good low cost tea tree shampoo/conditioner at most stores. Vitacost and whole foods brand.

We use tea tree oil diluted with water in a little spray bottle on my son's scalp.
Tea tree oil itself shouldn't be more then $10 a bottle. One bottle lasts a really long time.

This may sound funny but it works, if a fungus is causing it.
Try using Listerine. My son had itchy flaky skin on his head. I used Listerine every other day for a week. It's all gone and that was 2 months ago. It has alcohol in it so it kills fungus. And your hair smells minty fresh!

Another thing you can try is rubbing coconut oil on the itchy area. I have read that it is really helpful for dandruff and cradle cap.
