My husband is newly diagnosed and is having lots of eye issues. redness, infections, ..ugh. He is refusing to go to the dr for his eyes!

I went to the neuro-opthalmologist, and passed all the tests even though he had to anesthetize my eyes for me to be able handle the bright light.
It wasn't until I started drinking mangosteen juice, an anti-inflammatory juice, that my Lyme eye symptoms went away.
The juice is found in healthfood stores and online. I like the Mango-Xan one, as it's the most tart.
We're all different in how we respond. This juice works for me. I have Lyme and no co-infections.

I found the article confusingly organized. There was a bit under symptoms.
Basically it said light sensitivity is an early symptom, blurry vision is a later symptom and various parts of your eye can have inflammation.
I don't have light sensitivity, but I have blurry vision from hell that keeps getting worse (along with several co-infections).

in the section on General and Ocular Manifestations you can see all the different ways it can affect your eyes.
I had to google most terms! it is very technical. I like research, but this was a lot for my eyes .
I have so many vision issues but they all come and goe hourly. I can't seem to find a good eye dr for this near me. I made apt with a famous place (littel bit of drive) in neuro ophthalmology, but now I am wondering if I should just call them asd ask if they have specific department for lyme?
My husband is another story. He get all kinds of physical redness and infections, etc. and he is a stubborn person when it comes to seeing a dr. What is one to do?

can someone please explain "blurry" to me?
I have never needed glasses and I am not sure if the issue I have is blurry vision or soemthing else
WHen I get episodes of this thing it seems like my eyes feel a littel crosseyed or something. not blurry outlines on anything, but like I had 10 shots of tequila or something. nothing looks fuzzy. it just looks cockeyed
is blurry fuzzy outlines?

Lisa i think they are different
My blurry is like looking thru fog or opening eyes under water
Ive heard it could be bio film and tht sounds right but i have no seen facts to back it up
When i am blurry it can be in either eye or both
I need to aggressivly blink repeatedly to be able to get the blurriness to move out of line of vision

lpkayak, I think I get that too. It feels like grease on my eyes and I feel like I need to rub it off. It comes and goes very quickly- the greasy eye thing.
lasts about only several minutes or so. it is so weird.
This is why I am not sure what blurry means: I took my son to the eye dr for his check up and he told dr that the outline on things wasn't crisp any more. I asked if that what blurry was like and theylaughed at me. ha
When I read I sometimes need reading glasses from the grocery. if I take them off letters look differnt, but I am not sure it is blurry! they look more like a double image to me- is THAT blurry?

I see an ophthalmologist at least once a yr. (usually more than that) and my insurance covers it, because I was assigned him due to the Lyme disease affect on my eyes.
I had conjunctivitis (not the infection) and episcleritis, and I am treated for dry eyes caused by the Lyme disease.
It didn't list glaucoma and I wonder if it can cause it. At my last appt. I saw glaucoma is suspected. I have an appt. in a week or so, for a special test for glaucoma.
I, also, have what he calls ocular migraines.

What is "conjunctivitid not the infection"
I have been dx extreme dry eyes for 20 yrs-opthal doesnt know why
I had dx "silent migrains" which were flashing lights with no pain
I havent had them for a long time-i think lyme tx helped
I went to ll opthal in westchester once but they said no signs of lyme-it was aroind 2000...maybe they didnt know yet
What is tx for dry eyes

For me it was Flashing lights Blind spots in your field of vision Blindness in the eye
Light senseitvy ,gritty eyes like constant sand ,
My eyes felt like I was looking through a microscope looking at a blood slide with little things and squigglyines
Also had conjovities for a long time.
But after successful treatment for lyme and bartonii All those symptoms gone.
I went back to eye doctor and told him of my condition and getting better .
He now takes into consideration if he can't find anything it's best to get to a doctor who knows and get tested for lyme and confections.
I think it was right step of direction to do, but at same time kind of hard to bring up an llmd

Conjunctivitis is another name for pink eye, it's an infection. The conjunctivitis I had was inflammation from Lyme disease.
My ocular migraines are black and white chevrons that have a flashing quality to them. When I was in my late teens it would be an area of vision that was blocked by a field of white.
For the dry eyes I use prescription eye drops (Restasis) and if necessary otc Systane and Zaditor (allergy eye drops)also, prescribed although they're otc.
Every now and then I have to do steroid eye drops to get the inflammation back under control.
