I have read several reports that turmeric may have some effect on babesia, and that it potentiates the drugs for babs. Has anyone used it for babesia?

I've read that too.

I also found that it , like garlic, chelates metals. I can feel it doing that when I take it - a strange sensation that is kind of prickly when taking chelators.

lately I have been on a natural protocol for biofilm reduction which consists of curcumin capsules (concentrated turmeric), borage oil and ginkgo. A few days after starting, I had a major herx where I had to sleep for 13 or 14 hours a day for a couple of days. First time that has happened to me, ever.

It hit some microbes no doubt, but not sure what.

I started taking 5,000 mg of curcumin in November after my gut caved and I had to stop all abx. I herxed EXTREMELY hard for ten days straight. BUT, when the clouds parted, oh my!! I felt wonderful!!! It got rid of my daytime fevers, headaches, night sweats, joint pain, muscle pain, brain fog and as an added bonus it completely wiped out a longstanding candida problem I'd had for years!! The results were miraculous to be honest.

I was in complete remission from November to Febuary (three glorious months!) just from curcumin!! Unfortunately it started giving me unbearable stomach pain and gallbladder attacks and I had to stop. Every time I tried to restart, even at a lower dose I would get gallbladder attacks so bad that the next stop would've been the hospital had I continued. Within a month or so of stopping it I relapsed with Bart and babs - candida followed soon after. I'm back on abx now. So! From my experience yes, it is absolutely effective against not only babs but Bart and candida as well. I also think it has antiviral properties because the apthous ulcers that I've suffered from for years were completely absent during my time on curcumin. They too are back since stopping.

Lauren,
Have you considered just taking turmeric? Or turmeric with herbs? I believe it potentiates my herbs for lyme and babs- my impression anyway.

If one googles the words "babesia turmeric" he can find info on the relation.
