i thought i was feeling a bit better cause the neck pain let up a bit but today i have been sooo hot like i have a fever and even felt a bit delirious. my jaw, teeth, eyes, sinuses, brow bone and even skin around sinuses and eyes are painful sore to the touch. Still have a snotty/stuffy nose and sore throat.

The malaise is terrible, my ears are blocked up, head is full of pressure, feeling very weak, and I have two big fever blisters on my nose.

I am sooo miserable and I am supposed to be moving this weekend. I can barely get out of bed.

What the heck is up with this? I feel like I could almost be dying. I called my mom over to sit with me cause i wanted someone to be with me in case I was dying. That's how bad I feel.

I don't think I had a cold this bad prelyme and haven't really had one since lyme.

Can a cold be this vicious?

Could it have turned into a bacterial infection since the onset of symptoms, Saturday?

I am really scared to take abx on top of this. Feeling like this plus herx would surely feel like dying.

Oh no gigi!

I just had one too. Worse cold ever. Don't know where it came from, no one else around me is sick.

Lasted 10 days. Awful.

Do you have anyone around you who could have given it to you?

Is it possible some latent viruses have reactivated? (this is what I think mine was).

Hang in there

Go to a doctor. It may be strep throat.

In the meantime, drink plenty of green tea, take olive leaf extract with food, and rest.

Good luck!

Greta, my son had a cold for a week and I assumed I got this from him. He is 3 and it didn't really phase him outside of some coughing. My hubby felt bad for a couple days and was ok. No idea why I am being hit so hard.

Usually I get a cold and mostly get body aches a nd maybe a day or two of light sniffles.

It feels like my immune system is in overdrive.

I hate this! I have to move this weekend and I feel too Ill not to mention, my new neighbors get to meet me for the first time with my nose covered in fever blisters. [Frown]

I am just getting over this virus. It hangs on for three weeks now. Slowly going away, but slowly. It is a bad one.

I cannot remember the last time I had a cold/bronchitis but I got one two weeks ago.

Started with a tickle in my lungs and then the yellow /green gunk coughing up - yuck!!!!! Moved into my sinuses.

Luckily I was on Biaxin and Clindamycin in the event that it was bacterial.

It is two weeks today and I finally feel better - not perfect but better.

Been living on lots of allergy meds as the allergies are soooo bad this year. In addition to all the natural stuff I have been taking; Mucinex, Allegra, Sudafed, Patanase and lots of saline rinses. I tried Singulair which really cleared out my lungs and sinuses but could not tolerate the side effects. Got to keep everything open and clear.

This one is a bear to get rid of but it will get better.

sorry you guys are sick too but it makes me feel better that i am not the only one. I tried sudafed but it made me feel weird. I feel hot like a fever off and on. is it better to let it ride itself out, or take tylenol?

I am drink some green tea and lemon water. Someone suggested olive leaf but for some reason it makes me herx like crazy so i am gonna skip that for now.

Is there anything besides sudafed or phenylephrine for head stuffiness? sudafed makes me feel weird and phenylephrine just doesn't work.

may try mucinex, as u mentioned, desertwind. allegra, sudafed and saline rinses unfortunately do not seem to help. my nose has been so blocked the saline won't go through.

gigimac; Give Mucinex a try. It has been a real life saver for me in terms of reducing head pressure. I even take it when I am not having cold/allergy issues for babs head pressure issues. Not sure why it helps but it does.

Sudafed makes me feel really weird too but I am able to tolerate it - it makes me break out in wicked sweats from messing with my adrenals.

I was not able to do the rinses either until I got my nose opened enough - that is where the Sudafed came in handy for a few days as it allowed me to get to the point where I can do the nasal rinses. But yeah, if you are that congested then the rinses back fire.

Can you take Oil of Oregano? That could help but might make you herx....How about mega doses of Vit C?

thanks, i will try the mucinex and vita c. Hmm, that is interesting about the sudafed. i got hot and sweaty too. i didn't know it could mess with the adrenals, does that mean i could have adrenal problems?

Not sure but I know it is a CNS stimulant and reves up my already messed up adrenal system. I would imagine if your adrenals are already impaired then taking something that taxes it is going to have negative effects.

Its tough because anytime I start sweating I automatically think Babesia.

I also think sweating is one of the side effects of Sudafed. Feel better soon.

Boil some water and add a bunch of thyme (and mint if you have it). Put a towel over your head and do an old-fashioned steaming of your sinuses.

I remember having a cold where not even sinus wash would get through I was so stuffed up.

My ND recommended thyme for steaming and it gave relief. The stuffiness would come back and I would just steam every time it got unbearable.

i used a nose spray(probably shouldn't have cause i know they can be addicting but was desperate to breathe) so i could breathe but even though I can breathe through my nose a bit I can't smell anything.

I just stuck my nose in a strong smelling candle and nothing. I also could not taste my dinner.

Everything is tasteless and has no smell.

Isn't that strange considering I can breathe through my nose?? kinda worried.

I will try the steam Judie, thanks.

The thyme will help break up mucus in the lungs too.

Some scented candles and air fresheners actually have anesthetics added to dull your sense of smell so you have to keep buying more of them so you can smell them.

It's RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) season. It might not be a cold. Though RSV presents in healthy adults the same as a cold, it may be much more severe in immunocomprimised persons.
