I saw a new LLMD today and he noticed that previous IgG (immunoglobulin) values were low. He is going to retest, but he said that this is a problem with my immune system and suggested that this could cause my Western Blot results to be negative because my body might not recognize the need to make antibodies for Lyme.
He said this could explain how I could have a positive PCR for borellia and a negative WB at the same time. He told me that false PCR's were very rare for the plasmid test (by Southern Dot) that I had done in 2011.
He ordered the ISPOT test for Lyme. He is also going to treat the low IgG with a few new supplements that I have never taken - but we will start slow. No need for IVIG just yet. Can anyone chime in on this?

My doc wanted me on hyzentra, which is subQ IG, the insurance denied it.
In the meantime, he has me on IGG 2000 which is a supplement (it's cow colostrum? Freaks me out a bit...actually haven't taken it yet...) and gamma shots once a week. They say it's better than nothing.
My wb igm is pos, while the igg is neg

IGG 2000 is one of the supplements he recommended. He also recommended Transfer Factor and LDN. But I am going to start each very slowly and apart so we will know how I react.

What is the IGG testing? I'm wondering if I had it done or not.

My first LLMD tested my IgG and subclasses and they were low. IVIG wasn't mentioned. He sold me supplements for over two years.
Each month or so, my tests didn't improve.
My next LLMD offered IVIG but I felt way too sick to go for the infusions.
My current LLMD nearly freaked when he saw my labs. First appt. he ordered a PICC, IV Doxy, orals and IVIG.
I don't remember when but it was the first time I had positive bands on Labcorp WB. Lyme specific bands.

Pocono, were all of your IgG subclasses low? What labs did your current LLMD freak about?
Did you have the positive bands for the first time after starting the IVIG therapy?

dbpei,
Are you talking about Transfer Factor from Jeff Sutherland?
I am thinking about starting on that. Sutherland is very highly regarded in the Rife community and if this product does actually raise Natural Killer immune cell function anywhere near the amount that they claim, then that would have to be a good thing.
"raise Natural Killer immune cell function up to 437%"
"Ensures exclusivity with protective United States patents: #6,468,534 (extraction process for transfer factors from egg sources) and #6,866,868 (combination process of transfer factors from cow colostrum and chicken egg yolk)."

After looking a little more i see that there are other products that also include the name Transfer Factor. So not sure if we are talking about the same product.
Wonder which one is better than the other one.

Some info on Transfer Factor, doesn't mention a specific brand but just info on Transfer Factor itself.
Yes. My total IgG was very low in addition to subclasses 1,2,3 and 4.
Those were the labs he nearly freaked about. He saw that they had been drawn over and over, always very low and "nothing" was done about it.
The supplements did nothing for me. I did have some positive bands from Igenex but never from Labcorp until after having the infusions. I do subq hizentra now and like it much better.
Ellen. It is blood work that would read IgG Total Subclass 1 subclass 2 subclass 3 subclass 4
There are others they check too. IgM, IgA, IgE... The only one I'm remembering is IgE as mine is sky high at nearly 2,000. Normal is 0-100. It's indicative of allergies. Never had a problem prior to Lyme.

Thanks Pocono Lyme. I will have to go through my bloodwork. I know my IgE was always very high. I'm betting now that has lowered due to my change in diet.

Thanks for all of the info, Pocono and JB. I'm looking through all my labs and it is confusing because of the different labs ordered by various LLMD's through the years. My Immunoglobulin G subclass 1 was definitely low. But the others were not.
I couldn't find IgE anywhere. So I am not sure about that one. I guess I will try the various supplements recommended - one at a time - and see if I feel any different.
