For years before my lyme diagnosis I had been working with a cardiologist for what I believed were heart palpitations. Now 7 months into heavy Lyme treatment and many tests on my heart, the cardiologist has determined there is no issue with my heart. At this point we are considering it could be muscle spasms. Has anyone else dealt with this issue? The feeling can last hours and disrupts my sleep so I am looking for answers.

Could be costochondritis or tietzes? Warmth seems to help a little bit, I'm about to try curcumin. Gentle stretching doesn't seem to make a difference, activity makes mine worse.

When mine first started it was pretty intermittent until it stayed constant in one location or another, just gets worse and pain radiates with flares. I get palpitations too, they started after chest pain.

Sorry I don't have better advice, but I can commiserate with you. It's definitely scary, glad you were working with a cardiologist to rule out heart issues.

I had costochondritis really bad for about two years.

Instead of just pain on the costal margins, I had severe pain under my sternum.

It would hurt so bad and my heart would bang around, I would faint.

The ecgs ekgs were normal, but I found out those tests are only effective if done at time of chest pain.

Lyme treatment helped get rid of the chest pain.

Re the timing of EKG testing makes me want to get more testing done, my EKG was normal last year when I complained of chest pain. It's gotten much worse since then.

I get the pain all around my sternum, sometimes it even radiates through my shoulders or back. When it's directly around the lower part of my sternum my palpitations are the worst.

Esophagus spasms can feel like horrible chest pain. It's like an elephant standing on your chest. Those wake me up sometimes.

I have had many and EKG that show no issues. Unfortunately they are taken when I am not experiencing any issues. But the monitors I have worn for as many as 60 days with no indications. The muscle "twithes/thumps" feel like a tugging mostly near the sternum and under the left breast are. Physically I can see the skin/muscle twitch.

I found that applying PEMF, pulsed electromagnetic field therapy, to the skin above the esophageal spasm stopped it right away.
What a relief!

I have a SOTA Magnetic Pulser.

Hello,

I had left chest pain...once i thought it was a heart attack..then i was like no that's ridiculous. Then I thought it was intense gas pains. Now, all I can think of it was joint pain in the ribs..if I press on my sternum it hurts all the time.
