Hello I need everyone's opinion on this. I'm 22 years old with no medical history of mental illness or neurological disease. I am diagnosed Lyme neurological and cognitive are my symptoms. Mainly my behavior. I am unaware of how I am acting and treating others. I have no emotion nor care for others which isn't right. I have a Lyme doc and one doxcy, plaqunil, biaxin. my memory muscle spasms are also bad. I have no money and my Lyme doc is many states away. any one have experience in this. I think I might have frontal dementia, and don't want to die.

Lyme bartonella and or babesia cause so many psychiatric symptoms... I can't find it but there is an excellent link around here describing lyme and psychiatric illness. Hopefully another LNer can post it. Hang in there! I am neuro lyme and gots lots of improvement with continued treatment. How long have you been treating?

I started to turn the corner at about month 8. Sounds like you're on some good meds currently to start with. Keep on trucking, the symptoms seemed to slowly peel away for me. Still have some lingering but most peeled away slowly, one at a time.

Emtlyme, you are experiencing the same stuff that I dealt with in 2010. As Greta said, mine also was 8 months before I turned the corner. Don't give up this is not unusual to experience these things when your brain is infected. Your comment on frontal dementia strikes a chord with me,I was using the word labotomy. The blessing in this is you can get past it and regain all of your cognitive and emotions. And when your self "returns" it is very wonderful. These last 3 years been the most magic time of my life with renewed perspective on being alive. How well are you addressing detox? Coffee enemas were my biggest friend during that hellish time.

Is this what you are referring to Greta? Or were you referring to the article from The Human Side of Lyme? http://www.ilads.org/lyme/Psychiatric_Brochure_08_08.pdf

Robert bransfield and virginia sherr have a lot published. The name and the word lyme can be googled and you will find lots I cant get to my laptop now Emt...i had psyc sx when i treated bart-not like yours but i was seriously suicida I had one close friend who understood and stayed with me to keep an eye on me. It was very helpful...it only took a few weeks for my sx to improve a lot. It would be good if you had close support for awhile. Many of us are alone and have money problems Keep coming back here for support

Read www.thehumansideoflyme.net written by a now-retired Lyme-literate psychiatrist. It will give you a better perspective.
