I was in a very humid beach town last week. I felt pretty good to my amazement, but now that I am back home I am feeling pretty bad with symptoms.
I thought I would feel worse at the humid beach, but I felt pretty good there and back home I am back in lots of pain, super tinnitus and more light flashes and brain clouds.
bleh.
I guess this is normal?

Sorry you're feeling so sick - were you on a plane?

no plane. just a few states south. sea level which does mess up my GI function. maybe that is somehting causing some of this, but it's deffinitely dryer here at home and I can really feel it in my eyes and mouth, etc.

Maybe it's not the climate. Could something in your house be making you feel worse? Mold, VOCs, etc?

My thoughts mold also.
But I find humidity makes symptoms worse. Like a hammer on my joints and head.

Interesting. I have had the opposite exp. The hot humidity (esp humidity) makes things so much worse. I live in a cold humid beach town.
I feel much better in the dry mountains or desert. Looking into moving.....my doc said that he has a few patients like this.....they are TERRIBLE, neuro etc...at home, and then they go someplace else and are almost fine. ???

- Humidity usually makes things worse, however, ocean air usually makes things much better. The ions from the water action are just different at the beach. Better air quality than in towns / cities. No asphalt, etc.
Good vibes. I'll take the beach / coast any day! Also feel better with an ocean breeze on my face.
But if HEAT is involved, any good is cancelled for me (and for many with neurological issues).
Still, what you are experiencing is very normal "payback" (to those with lyme) for any kind of exertion, even fun or enjoyment. It's a lot of work for your body, and the trip there, back, etc.
Be sure to give yourself some time to adjust. It's a good idea to always build in that buffer time both before and after activities. Still, keep the good memories and the body sense of being "with" the ocean with you. -
