I was out at a BBQ last night with some family friends.
They are all aware of my situation thus they have crowned me the family tick expert
One our friends recently found a tick crawling up the pant leg of their 4 year old son and aware of my situation put the parents into a panic. The parent asked me, in general, how are toddlers (ie. 4ish year olds) treated for lyme.
All I knew is that LLMDs don't use doxy on kids that young...but I wasn't aware of what was used in place and the dosage. I did say that treatment length varies per the individual, but usually txt for kids doesn't take as long as adults. ...needless to say I did not feel like the expert.
So.... For next time, what is the general ABX protocol for kids?
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
Thank you!
