What meds have you guys taken for Bart that have been the most successful??

I was given
Rifampin + Zithromycin + IV rocephin + Doxy
Rifampin + minocycline + IV rocephin + Zith
Then finished that with 1 month Levaquin + IV Rocephin
Note: rocephin is bacteriostatic, not bactericidal against bartonella.
Rifampin is bactericidal, but must always be taken with at least one, ideally two more antibiotics to prevent resistance.
And it must never be pulsed. Once one begins rifampin for bartonella, one must stay on it for the long haul.
I was on it for 6 months. And have since relapsed again with bartonella. Some docs say 2-4 years...
Buhner's bartonella book is great. He has assembled studies and extracted the pertinent information out. It makes it easier to read.

nikkabelle & Greta -
I was just diagnosed clinically with Bart by my LLMD.
I believe he is working me up slowly with medications, although I'm a little confused as to if my Lyme is being treated now or Bart. I'll need to clarify with him.
But what is typically the order of treatment? Or does it differ for everyone and how they react, etc?
I have SO MUCH to learn!

For what it's worth, my LLMD has added clinical dx of bart to my protozoals dx.
He had me on 2 months of supplements / detox / immune support and antibiofilm agents, then added ivermectin as an antiprotozoal (biofilm contributer).
After 4 months of iver, he's adding clarythromycin, then in a 1 month we'll add lower dose rifampin, then ramp up to high dose after a month...
...and stay on the whole kitchen sink for at least 6-9 months.
He recommends monthly testing, as many people seroconvert after a month of rifampin ramp up, but the antibodies only last a couple months. Easy to miss a + test.

I took rifampin plus mino plus zith for a long time. I was on IV doxy and rifampin for 3 months. (Best i ever felt) Was always on rifampin for a good 2 yrs. Tried to go off and every time felt worse. I did pulse cipro for 4 days out of the week for a few months, then started to hallucinate. I thought it was the cipro but now im thinking it was the bart.
Now ive of course relapsed so im starting with mino after 7 months off abx. Im hoping mino will hit the Bart a little.
Also just started HH herb from buhner protocol, also on CSA TINCTURE from woodland essence that hits bart, babs, myco, and strep according to him. I hope hes right. Gonna work my way up to all his herbs while on some abx and see if that helps any.

Did you guys work on treating Lyme or Bart first?

My doc treated them at the same time.
After the levaquin, then we treated babesia and lyme.
