I woke up early this morning because my heart was going crazy. I went to the ER and was diagnosed with Atril Fib. I did respond to the meds and they send me home. It was really scary. I am 48. I do have PVC's from Lyme but don't think I can handle any other health issues. UGH!

Has this ever happened to anyone on here? I am scared to go to sleep tonight for fear it will happen again.

What is your magnesium form, how much and how often per day.

Up to four times a day, 500 mg. each time. Never all at once. Best to say under 2,000 mg a day total and a kind that is not going to act as laxative

A different form that helps many:

ReMag Liquid - sublingual

You ask if this happens to anyone else? Well, yes . . . just about everyone with lyme can experience A fib. I sure did.

and the doctors were all idiots about it. Magnesium and Hawthorn were two best helpers, among other things.

I would not look at this tonight as it covers a lot of ground. Tomorrow, scroll down to the support methods.

On Monday, call your LLMD and they can guide you as to the kinds of assessment you may need.

Some Rx can do this, too. Be mindful of any Rx that affects what is call QT rhythm. More detail on that here, too:

I hope you can relax and get some sleep. If you feel the skipping again . . . breathe slow & steady. The body needs that.

A belly rub is helpful, too, mildly covering the vagus nerve in the mid belly that can get tight and constrict and then send out signals to the heart, so to speak.

Soft, gentle music. If you can settle into a rhythm of breathing, that helps your heart. this can get better. Really.

I would also suggest increasing vitamin C and high dose CoQ10 to support the heart.

Have you been tested or treated for bartonella?

While lyme can cause cardiac issues, you need to also consider that there may be other tickborne infections that also need to be treated.

Thanks you all for your help. Keebler, I have a question...they did test my magnesium and it was normal....does that mean it was "normal" meaning what the medical standards are or is there another kind of normal that the medical establishment does not recognize?

Also, Yes, I do think that I need to be tested for the co-infections, I will ask for that at my November appt.

I did call my LLMD and he said that he thought it was herxing.

Thank you for the support. I am still a little shook and afraid it will happen again.

The test for magnesium is INTRACELLULAR. Most don't do that. Still, be sure to read the links above as the suggested numbers are just not enough.

But it must be in divided doses as one dose all at once is too much for kidneys and it moves out of the body too fast. Has to be at least 3 x day.

Your liver support may need some adjusting ?

LIVER & KIDNEY SUPPORT & and several HERXHEIMER support links, too.

Exactly. Their tests will only pick up a SEVERE deficiency.

Here is what you might try:

http://requestatest.com/magnesium-rbc-testing

I have A-fib but have not had a bout of it since going on ReMag, a superior magnesium product.

www.rnareset.com

I also make sure to take CoQ10. I buy the NOW brand from Swanson's.

A-fib can be very scary. VERY. So be sure to help yourself out. The drugs they give you can have a lot of side effects.

Campermom... Also make sure you are not taking any drugs which could cause the A-fib.

I failed to mention that trazodone was causing mine to happen more often!

I was just recently able to get off of the traz!! Woot!
