Hoping someone can provide ideas please.

Need a timer to go off every hour on the hour- automatically after it is set on a daily basis- so I can take new medicines. Need to be able to set it for going off from 4 to about 16 times a day (maximum).

They have pool times, thermostat timers, and timers for all sorts of stuff, but can't seem to find something that isn't so large it cant be carried around.

Don't need screaming loud, don't need it to hold medicines, don't need radio attached or an electric cord either. Need it to be portable.

Can't use a cell phone- rare to get signals here, so that is not reliable. No house phone either. Not by a computer all day, so that won't work.

Any help/ideas out there? Thanks!

Some watches had such features - just a little beep - long before cell phones were even around & took over that watch role for many.

You might call a jewelry store (or watch department of department store) where they carry various brands of real watches - those without web connections.

A sports shop may also have sometime that divers might use.

Your Audubon Society or your Zoo's "baby" feeding department might have such an item.

I have many custom alarms and reminders set in my cellphone, and all of them work fine even when my phone is in "airplane mode."

The vibrations from a cell phone, though, can be trouble for sleep. Even if not connected, it can affect the heart rhythm. The light from it can also affect sleep.

Some watches with such features will glow red. Red is the only color of light that is "okay" for our eyes to see at night and not have the brain wake up.

If you use a cell phone for this purpose, see if there is a "red" light feature -- but still, keep it as far away from your body as possible, not near you. Even when turned off, it has a powerful effect on the body.

I have a $40 timex ironman watch where I can set the timer function to countdown from a certain time (say an hour) and have it automatically repeat - so in this case I set it once, and the alarm would go off every hour without needing to reset it

I agree. Watches or one of those timers that Walgreen's has for meds.

Also look on www.drugstore.com

Hi Tincup,

I have an older version of this. It runs on AAA and is credit card sized, plus a magnet for the fridge.

One of the lab techs at my work gave it to me but I think you can find it on eBay. Super easy to use and program.

Wonderful!!! Thank all of you for sharing!! I'd been getting 69,492,294,433 hits, or none when looking online. This will certainly narrow down the search!

Till I get something I am a mess. Trying to remember to do something new, especially every hour, sucks. Even if I'm sitting right in front of a big clock for three hours, I am still not remembering. Duh me!

Again, appreciate all of you and your efforts! Tanks berry mush!

BINGO! Got it!

BTW- Can not use a cell phone due to bad ears/headaches, etc that it causes. Don't have a house phone anymore to set that ring alarm, which was a wireless phone (walk-about) with speakers and the only way I could use it.

So, I found online a great product, thanks to you all.

It is called (on Amazon)...

e-pill Multi-Alarm 37 Alarm POCKET XL Easy to Set Pill Timer (NO Pill Tray)

Cost- $18.88 and free shipping. (BTW- Shipping was quite slow for some reason- about 10 days to get it?)

But, I love it! Alarm sound is reasonable, yet I could still hear it beeping from another room. Super easy to set. And best of all- got my meds on time!!!

There is one advertised that can hold pills in the alarm case, but I am doing liquids, so got the one without the added pill holder. Plus, pill holder wouldn't keep a days supply of most of our meds for Lyme anyway- too small.

Details...

Up to 37 daily alarms with Missed Pill Indicator.

EASY TO SET. Simply slide a switch to set it! Repeats every day - No reset required (alarms automatically reset every midnight and repeat again at the same time tomorrow).

FREE Standard SHIPPING. Complete with batteries. - Used in Clinical Trials. You can set up to 37 alarm times per day - on the hour or half hour.

Easily change your medical reminders (for example - if you want to sleep-in tomorrow!).

Specifications: The alarm will sound for 4 minutes. 10 seconds ON 10 seconds OFF.

Thanks again to those who responded. Problem solved!

This is what I have used. You can carry it in your pocket since it is very small.
