Is 200 mg per day of Doxy considered a strong treatment for Bartonella?
Or is Doxy not a major treatment for Bartonella?

Doxy is not a treatment for bartonella.
Rifampin, biaxin, septra, zithromax, tinidazole, flagyl, IV Vanco, Ketek, Avelox. Sida Acuta, Hottuynia, Ivermectin etc.
Sometimes doxy or mino are used in combination with one or more of the above.
3 abx at a time with herbal support seems to be most effective, as per Buhner.
A great great book is Buhners Coinfection book for Bartonella and Mycoplasma.
It has info on all the herbals and antibiotics that have been proven to be effective against bart.
If you go to the search function on lymenet and type in "bartonella" lots of prior posts regarding bart treatment will come up.

Thanks Greta.
That's what I was thinking.
I have been taking Biaxin & Doxy (I think just slowly treating Lyme and haven't started targeting Bart yet as my LLMD just said I have Bart).
Have an appt with him soon to go over treatment.
My Bart symptoms have not gotten better at all with biaxin/doxy, but that makes sense if doxy doesn't hit Bart.
I have heard some stories from people that within days of starting rifampin some of their Bart symptoms improved.
Would love that...

Thoughts?
What has been the most helpful for others with Bart?

I liked rifampin.
It was hard to take initially, but then things started getting better.
Maybe your doc is planning to add it in?
It is paired with biaxin by the bart doc.
I am on rifampin (for the second time). I read a lot once you stop it, it never works again.
But this second time around I am still herxing. Thought my feet were gonna split open in the mornings. The walk from the bed to the toilet first thing in the am is like walking on spiky river rocks.
Some docs prescribe quinolones for bart, but I would advise to read about the dangers of quinolones before you take them.
I didn't have a bad time with levofloxacin, but from what I have been reading (great threads by Judie), I was just lucky.
Rifampin also has potential dangers. Can't recall what they are currently.
Rifampin always needs to be paired with other abx. Never on it's own.
