I've had 2 MRIs and yes it shows herniation in lumbar, sacral area. The area flared up again for no none reason. I think it's the lyme/co-infection bugs going to the vulnerable area.

Nothing relieves it. The hot/cold won't touch it or the antispasmodic or ibuprofen. The chiropractor some what helped. He said when I was still in pain to keep getting treatment for relief. One can't get an appointment, as practice over booked. He wasn't much help.

Anyone have this problem and any solutions? My next step is physical therapy and a pain management doctor.

This is the first time I've stayed on antibiotics, (doxy and tinidozole) continually without a break. It's been 3 and half weeks. I see my
lyme dr. Fri., 12/12.

My lower, back, pain comes and goes. I had this about a month ago and it took a month to heal. Now, it came back, yesterday @ 11am.

I first thought it was from the rainy weather. Yet, it wouldn't let up with ibuprofen, anti-spasmaatic, etc. The pain left, yet the

area is tender. I'm afraid it'll put me into the pain mode.

I still have fungus under the toenails. I'll look up Malassezia.

Thank you for this follow up.

Merry Christman!

Hi there,

Not sure if this is the same thing as yours or not.

Pain from my left lower butt cheek (where the leg bone sits in the pelvis bone) and radiates to the right side and then up to about where my pant waistband sits.

It flares when infections are flaring.

My kineseologist, chiroc, osteopath and massage therapist say this is my SI joint.

There are exercises I do that cut the pain by 50%.

Similar to a youtube video made by Dr.Jo a physiotherapist on the Ask Dr. Jo channel on youtube.

I find the stretches she shows are very similar in quality to what my other docs recommend for the SI joint, and her personality and humor makes the videos enjoyable.

When I do the stretches daily it helps keep the pain manageable.

A true assessment of any inpingement should be done by a qualified practioner BUT perhaps if it is your SI joint contributing to the lower back pain (aside from the disks), it could help you.

I am not a medical professional, and fiddling around with spinal things when disk issues are present always seems like best to talk to your doc about it first. It would be awful if the stretches aggravated the disk problems you have.

But watch the videos nonetheless and exercise your best judgement. She has lower back stretches on there also.

I use the neck strech video too and it helps also.

Do think about the possibility that the tinidazole could be causing any nerve pain to get worse.

Purplehaze, thanks for reaffirming my mind. I do think Lyme has wrecked my back. Just came back from a back doctor and it's a

sprain/strain. Need to take pain/muscle relaxer for this to calm down. Then onto physical therapy I have exercises to strengthen

area. Of course will wait 2 wks.

Don't know anything about tinidazole causing nerve pain. Have you been informed about this?

Have you been on any toxin binders like Welchol or Cholestyramine? I see my doc tomorrow and will ask for Welchol. I

think this drug has increased my neurotoxins and reacting on my back. The back doc I saw put me on a narcotic for pain and a

muscle relaxer. Yet, I still have the discomfort and some pain.
