Every time I take killers I seem to have trouble breathing.

Is this normal for a herx?

Posted by Maya12 (Member # 36392) on :

I also get bad back and stomach pain

Can a Lyme herx also make you feel really angry and a bit psycho?

Posted by randibear (Member # 11290) on :

Yep. Got so angry with husband once I was literally shaking. I wanted to choke him..had to leave the room. I was loosing it.

And heart thumps and skips beats..but all tests normal

Maya,

You say that "every time I take killers" you get shortness of breath.

"Killers" ? I assume to mean antibiotics.

This is a matter to discuss with your LLMD. This could be an allergic reaction. If not to that degree, though, consider what all other factors could be involved.

Also note, though, in case you also take anything with acetaminophen in it that the acetaminophen can cause lung problems.

[And Ibuprophen constricts blood vessels in kidneys but also in the entire body so that can affect lungs, too.]

Gluten, Dairy (a major phlegm producer), dust, colognes, etc. all should be considered as well.

Studies Suggest an Acetaminophen-Asthma Link

Excerpt:

. . . Even a single dose of acetaminophen can reduce the body’s levels of glutathione, a peptide that helps repair oxidative damage that can drive inflammation in the airways, researchers have found. . . .

I don't take Tylenol at all because I know it is so hard on the liver

I just never seem to get any better.

I will have short spurts of time when I feel a bit better but it is never consistent.

Have been treating for 2 plus years and no further ahead.

I just feel so sad and don't really know what to do anymore.

I kind of wonder if this is a yeast flair. I was really bad for a few months with my diet.

I have been hitting things really hard again. Ceftin, ozone treatments and artamisianin. ( not all in the same day)
Oh and probiotics.

I wonder if my poor body just needs a few days break

Can a herx become cumulative?

Maya,

I have no clue about how you mean "cumulative" but if you mean if you are experiencing a rough herx and treatment intensifies, will the herx get harsher?

Indeed. It will. And that is NEVER good for anyone. A herx is really not good, many LLMDs and LL NDs say and that is why there is so much emphasis on support methods and not going top gung ho on treatment - tailoring it to what a patient's particular body can bear.

And there is no way to have a recipe that fits everyone, all the way through. It's between you and your LLMD / LL ND.

"Never consistent" with progress or feeling better? That's to be expected. It's normal.

It's rough, I know. First, the question of what's "reasonable to expect" dealing with lyme?

Indeed, all kinds of "stuff" - it's no picnic for sure. I do not think it's untypical or even (given what lyme is) unreasonable to be feeling just awful for a very long. Some say it can take several years to get to a point of feeling better.

But, don't let that stop you from figuring out the BEST method for you so that you can tolerate the plan.

And, yes, it is still "reasonable / typical" at the 2 year mark to still have this be the rough & tumble Wild West in terms of difficulty and unpredictability of what's going to pop up next, where.

Still, it seems that only your doctor & providers can really answer your questions about what is reasonable for you, given your diagnoses, your particular treatment methods and this point in time.

The variables & perspective are just not well garnered via the web. Degree, definitions vary, too.

You say that you " just feel so sad and don't really know what to do anymore."

That, too, is understandable and very much to be expected. And knowing that has really helped me at times, actually. Absolutely, it's normal, in this situation. And I can feel lonely and sad and that's okay. I won't melt. And, I can also appreciate things in the meantime.

Nurture yourself with some goodness where you can - even in quiet rest, as your body may be begging for a chance to rest so that it can do its job better without added stress.

seek out a LL therapist with you can talk about all your feelings and ways to alter what you can with certain kinds of breathing techniques,

If you are taking any mood altering drugs, check the side effects for so many of those actually can cause mood to get worse. If a mood Rx helps, great. But if you are taking one and it does not seem to, it just might be contributing to side effects.

perspective projects (as to our place on the earth, what is working in our favor, etc.)

nutritional support and ALSO culinary enjoyment is really important, too.

Finding things that (well, if you can't quite enjoy) that you can at least appreciate. Beauty. Find Beauty.

Thanks so much for your reply Keebler. See I was doing well. Then stopped treating ( I was sick of it so stopped) and am now paying for it.

And yes you're right I mean cumulative as in continuing to treat after already herxing. I have a bad habit of this.

And I guess even at 2 years of treatment ( with a 5 month break from it) I should still expect the ups and downs.

Thanks for reminding me that it can still be do up and down at this point.

Guess I just need to trust that my llnd will get me back.

I do know some treat for many many years.

Sometimes when I take antibiotics or herbs my chest burns too and breathing seems a little weird.

Certainly, for me, it happened quite a few times (shortness of breath).

And I do think herxes are cumulative, meaning, toxins build up and your body stops working properly. I got extremely tired, with pains all over, my kidneys and liver seemed to stop working or in pain... I got shortness of breath, heart symptoms, fatigue, and everything seemed to go worse.

Things got only better when I learned how to test energetically for cleaning and binding substances, measuring each of them (in species and amount). I could see my herxes going out like magic, only to come back when the effect of chlorella, MSM, whatever I was using as binder, disappears from my body...

No cleaning, only killing = no healing, no long term improvement, back to sickness, back to other infections. That has been my experience.

I detox extremely badly, and I do need support for taking toxins out, by whatever means I find. Each killer, each pathogen, each treatment needs different binding substances. Once you use them, you start to give larger steps towards healing.

If I ignored toxins, I gave one step ahead, but then 3 backwards, and the average was negative, going backwards.

I hope you find out a solution, in case you are loading yourself with toxins. Its not fun, specially with babesia, for me the worst herxes I ever got.

Worst herxes: 1. babesia. 2. candida. 3. borrelia.

Wish you good luck! Don't give up!!!

My llnd does test me with a vega machine for diff supps both to kill and to detox but how do you detox and take these when you are also on meds and don't want to leach those out of the body?

How do you test energetically Brussels?

I also just had my blood tested and kidneys and liver are good.
