I've been treating with antibiotics for four years and still not better. Today I feel like I have the flu really bad achy feeling. Headaches. Muscle pain. Have been on iv rocephin for six months. Rifampin and plaquenil for four months, biaxin and plaquenil off and on and mepron for a year with doxycline and also biaxin and plaquenil. Seem to have ups and downs, even certain times of the day are worse than others. Doctor says I could have a resistant coinfection and wants me to take a test at fry labs for coinfections.I thought confections are supposed to be diagnosed by symptoms ? Don't see why I need to have a test taken. Maybe he just wants evidence that I have something after treating this long?

Follow your doctor's advice. It can take several years to feel better. I know.

I wouldn't follow ONLY my doctor's advice.
Not any doctor's advice, if I feel something is going wrong.
I always followed my gut first. Ultimately, it's only us who know our bodies well and who have ultimately interest in getting fully better and healed.
Poor doctors are human beings like us, who may try to help us out, but everyone here knows how complex this disease is. They are not gods.
there are several studies showing that patients who take their health in their hands get faster well than those who follow blindly their doctors.

If you haven't looked into mold I suggest that you do. It holds a lot of people back.
Also it takes a long time to feel better on Rifampin. I was on it for 10 months and didn't start feeling real progress until the 8 month mark. I also was on 1200 mg of Rifampin for the last 6 months of it. I took it with Biaxin. Another thing I should add about Rifampin is that it really messes with your hormones. It makes you process them a lot quicker. I had to go on hydrocortisone, thyroid meds, progesterone, and estrogen to get through it.
The number one reason for rifampin failure is adrenal failure.
