I just relapsed after 5 years of aggressive tx

with Dr H and recently started treatment with a a

Doxy w Bactrim DS.I'm so confused as I have been

having hot flashes that come and go so initially

I thought Babs, but over the past 3 days I have

developed 2 scratch like marks on my skin. One

on very upper uh butt, and the other on my upper

thigh (close to my lady parts)so now thinking.

So now I'm confused. Also both of these symptoms

never appeared before, nor have I ever developed

a rash from antibiotics. Oh and also took 4

Diflucan pills in the last week if that makes any

difference. I don't know

Thanks in advance for any thoughts : )

This is the one on my very upper thigh. The other

one isn't as pronounced.

I had two shorter ones on my face. Looks like Bart, however there are MANY other rashes that go along with Lyme, not just the Bulls Eye. I have never seen pictures of the other ones though.

Not a doctor, but the streak like marks are often associated with Bartonella. Bactrim is often used for Bartonella, so this may be some sort of herx reaction. Of course always best to ask your doctor!

Agree with dali, weird rashes are usually bart, and bactrim is probably hitting it. Lyme attacks the endocrine system, so the hot flashes could be from that.

First, I thought, it looked just like an isolated scratch with a strong response that some get (I do sometimes).

Reading you have another - and you did not mention having been scratched (I would think two scratches of that intensity would have drawn your attention) . . .

but look more closely at the photo above. It's not alone. Look to the right and just up a bit. There is a series of subtle "scratches" with fuzzy "lines" all about. It's a cluster.

And the smaller set is not quite along the same scratch line nor with quite as straight line as the main one. The very straight line had me questioning but the others are more irregular and that's look like bart, possibly.

Now, of course, some kind of something could have caused that whole set if your skin was scratched. I'm running with the assumption no run in with a zipper or furniture, etc. and when you have no memory of such look first to

bartonella. There may be other infections to consider and I'm not up on all that. But I have seen some bartonella rashes similar.

Think back, though, as to if there is any way this could have happened in any other way. Moving a piece of furniture, carry a box, etc. Unlikely, though, when on the backside and a thigh (although I do push one couch that way once in a while to vacuum).

Bart rashes do tend to like the hips and thighs, though.

Thanks for all the input everyone ! : ) Very,

very thankful : ) Yeah I thought it was a Bart

sign as well, but I have never developed

rashes during tx 5 years ago, or a rash in

general (besides the initial bullseye). So I I'm thinking it is Bart... AND Babs?

I don't sweat, my face just feels really hot and

only at night. I don't know?

Can Bart or medication cause the hot/flushed

feeling in my face? Hmmm What do you guys

think?

Thanks!!!

And Keebler, thanks so much for taking the time

to write your post. I believe they are, in fact stretch marks from dramatic weight gain/loss

during pregnancy. Also, stretch marks do seem to

appear on that section of the body. Upper thigh/lower hip. Or perhaps

I'm wrong. I don't notice it now when looking at

it, but maybe the photo makes it more pronounced

Hmmmmm

That was four years ago, though. Have they been like this ever since?

Yes, the stretch marks have been there

Since having my son. (I gained 60 pounds

And lost 70 within 3 months after my c section) i was

symptom free when i became preg w him

I've never seen anything like these 2

Scratches though.
