Regarding having time before surgery, it seems to me you are having surgery on March 20. So, if you can get to a doctor who will order the tests for you and take your blood before surgery, then you have the time.
I always recommend Igenex. They are the best at all the tick-borne diseases and especially the coinfections.
I hope you realize the cost is high. Because of that, some lyme doctors just assume that every lyme patient also has babs and bart and when they begin treating you for them, you will generally know right away if you have them.
So, if you have the money (could be about $600 for a full coinfection panel) you could get some great information from Igenex.
Call them to check the price.

How would you know right away of you have Bart of babs? My llmd strongly feels I have Bart, I just started meds for it but haven't had much of a response yet.
Bart would explain many of my symptoms so I still THINK I have it...but I can't tell yet from starting the meds. It's been about 5 days.
What do you think?

If you have a strong herx or flare or other reaction to the meds, and the reaction is an increase in classic bart or babs symptoms, that is how you know.
It doesn't always happen, but it happens to a lot of people.
One week after starting meds for babs, I got a horrible flare for 48 hours. It came every week like clockwork.
Before this, I had a positive babs test through Igenex but no babs symptoms that I was aware of. The flares were like nothing I had ever experienced. My lyme doctor explained to me that babs has a 7-day cycle and a 14-day cycle and that I was experiencing the 7-day cycle. It was wild.
When I treated bart, I never felt any different. I had a positive Igenex for bart also, but didn't really notice any symptoms of bart before or during treatment.
So, it can go either way but generally the person notices improvements or herxes when they first start treatment. 5 days may not be long enough to notice improvements. Glad you don't feel worse.
You may have to give it a month and then see if any symptoms are going away.
