Where is the best priced generic Ceftriaxone? Trying to figure out if I can afford to try it IM. Can't afford it IV. I'm getting quotes of like $2000 per month for 60 1gm vials. How are you all paying this??

Judie - how do you get it from the hospital? Hospital pharmacy? You just give them a prescription? Never heard of gettings meds that way. Is your doctor affiliated with the hospital?

Did you get the vials of powder, and you had to mix it, or was it already mixed with saline?
If it was already mixed, that is considerably cheaper than Infuserve, which has it premixed in syringes, bags, or home-pump balls, whichever way you want it. From them, the syringes are the cheapest way to get it.
Oh, I just realized that you were doing it IM----ouch! It's so much easier to do it IV, although you need a line in, unless you do it with a peripheral line.

Infuserve is quite cheap for iv and for all the supplies too. They'll email you a quote.

It was the pharmacy at the hospital. Not a chain pharmacy. It was actually the only pharmacy in my area that even carried it. I couldn't get it filled at CVS and they referred me to them.
Insurance wouldn't cover it.
