I have been having right sided ab. pain.
Concerned about GB since have taken Rocephin.
GB U/S yesterday at ER:

No wall thickening
No gallstones seen
No pericholecystic fluid
No intra or extra hepatic biliary ductal dilatation.
GB normal size.
Sonographic Murphy sign is negative.

If sludge is present - can it be seen on an U/S?

On the report there is no mention of sludge - seen or not - unless above terminology means sludge.

Tks.......... tired,, worried still....

I had 2 ultrasounds for my gallbladder (I have had GB attacks for years) both ultrasounds showed no stones, so I was dismissed

and told constipated, which very well may be, but it wasn't until I demanded a HIDA scan (Google if not familiar)

and I failed the HIDA scan test, and had pain going thru it, that it was conclusively determined my GB was indeed jacked up and needed to come out.

I don't know about sludge, per say. But a HIDA scan is definitive.

Just had one last week. My doc called to say I have sludge. I haven't seen the report, so I don't know how that was worded.
