I was wondering what you all have done to cure chronic vaginal yeast infections.
I've had the same yeast infection for years, caused by long-term antibiotics. I've been off antibiotics for 6 years, but the yeast infection is still present. I've tried a lot of different medicines and creams, but it has never gone away completely or permanently.
It's a little embarrassing to post this, but I'm sure lots of Lyme ladies can relate to this. hehe

I am fighting chronic yeast. Oral, esophageal and systemic. Treating yeast is a long process. Get on the anti yeast diet and get on diflucan and sty on them long term. Work on rebalancing gut bacteria.

- What helped me (some of which I'm sure you're familiar with)
Diet of no refined foods - nothing processed or with any additives - no sugar - only "real" food and gluten-free, diary-free
It may be important not to eat "factory" meats but only those raised responsibly
(but to keep from passing out form low blood sugar, veggies were not enough carbohydrates for me . . . I needed some of the non-gluten foods that are similar to grains and did okay with those, in moderation - black, red & wild rices; quinoa; millet; buckwheat groats; amaranth) . . .
Mountain Rose Herbs - SALVE - topical application to uro-genital tissue
Goldenseal-Myrrh Compound (a salve)
I suggest ordering at least the 2-oz. size. If you like that, twice daily application will take two 2-oz tins a month. More frequent applications may be best for acute cases. -

I'm still looking for the cure!! Mine is only in the gut, thank goodness.
- By the way, this is not just a "women's" problem. Men are also affected. Everyone can be. Anyone. I think most people are, really, to some degree.
If you are in an intimate relationship and if your partner may be dealing with systemic candida, they can pass that to you, even with just kissing (and, of course, with more intimate contact if unprotected).
If so, your partner should also be treated.
At the very least, everyone in our lives may benefit from this information about a good wholesome diet, and how important even just PROBIOITCS can be for health. -

- Back up, though, it may not necessary be a candida infection or maybe not JUST that. And there can be various strains. The strain can matter as to the treatment, especially if Rx.
It would be good see a gynecologist who could offer you a thorough investigation with laboratory slides / tests.
If you can find a gyn. who is at least lyme familiar, that will be of help because lyme affects the body in so many ways - as does the treatment - and most doctors just don't even have a clue.
If you know a LLMD or LL ND, ask their office manager for an "aware" gyn. they might recommend.
Also consider if vulvodynia might be involved. If so, absolutely, though - whoever treats you MUST understand the basics about lyme & how it can affect nerve fibers. -

- Another way to approach the anti-infective part of treatment for candida (or whatever else may be in the picture).

Anti yeast substances I know of off hand.
Coconut oil, oil of oregano, black seed oil.

I've been fighting 30 years against yeast.
My last battle is almost won with the Tesla wand (violet ray). I had an active vaginal candida that disappeared very fast without anything else than the wand (that sends high frequencies).
I only used it from the outside, and treated my gut with it, also from the outside, and the infection sort of stopped. The skin infection I have for 3 decades are MUCH better, and without any diet!
Before, I tried all killers, many crazy diets, well, I could survive candida, but it keeps coming back. This time, the best is that inflammation disappears pretty fast with the wand (that costs less than 50 dollars!) and I do not need to do diet.
I took no killers this time, I mean, I was taking at start, but then as the infection stopped, I stopped taking killers.

Diet definitely made a difference for me. But used antifungal creams or swishes for acute flareups, plus diflucan or nystatin.
Important to get copious probiotics in there (VSL3, ultimate flora 50, etc.) and rotate every few weeks.
It took me a long time (months), but I eventually got the yeast under control.

Brussels, which one did you buy?

that is the model I have, very cheap, but I guess any violet ray you buy will be ok.
Really, if I knew about this device, I wouldn't have suffered 30 years with candida, almost for sure.
I'm still OFF any diet (except for the stuff that causes me allergies, burning my tongue...), not avoiding anything because of sugar content. Barely felt any flares since I started treating with the device.
The inflammation stops growing from the first days of use, then if you treat your GI tract too, it starts to go backwards.
I've been using it for about 2 months, my whole skin that was severely affected with very painful inflammation, is now totally painless.
The color changes fast from bright red, to getting darker, then the skin gets harder, drier, and start to fall off. As I suffer for so many years, I guess it takes longer to heal, but I really don't mind as I do not feel I am fighting candida anymore.
No pain, no anti- candida diet, no flare, what else can I ask?!
Now, skin candida is about 95% gone, maybe even more. Only when I push hardly on some toes, I feel there is still some inflammation. But without that pressure, i feel nothing. No pain, no itchy feeling, really nothing! I just see my skin peeling off.
I stopped using the wand for about 10-11 days, then the infections started coming back. Fatigue too. So now, I use it for about 10 minutes a day, here and there, and even my Raynaud's is getting MUCH BETTER.
Vaginal candida was so easy to treat, it went away very fast, left no symptoms at all, no other parallel treatment!
Really, if I knew about this cheap device 30 years ago, my life would have been so different. Even allergies are getting better! I am able to eat wheat without much trouble, and my daughter is now eating some gluten, without the awful pains she got.
I take NO probiotics, and am doing NO other treatment for candida. Only the Tesla wand! I'm no beginner in candida treatment, as you know.
My candida problem was MUCH more stubborn than lyme. Lyme healed after 4 years of intensive treatment.
Candida healed, many times, but came back so many times that I was almost giving up any treatment.... I highly recommend that 26 buck device!
