I am on doxy for a uti. It has been a while since i took abx. The first dose I took I noticed my left arm start tingling soon after dosing. My left arm gets weak and achy (in the same spot where it tingled) when I have a lyme flare.
It seems to me I can feel the highly infected areas respond within an hour or so of taking the abx.
Is this common or am I alone in this?

My first dose of Doxy resulted in an immediate (within 15 minutes) brain herx.
It can and does happen

Me too. Early on (like in 2004) I could not tolerate even 100 mgs of Doxy. It hit me really fast and really hard. I just remember being so sick and could not tolerate any abx.s.
Fast forward....when I take Doxy for a flare or re-infection I actually feel better not worse within a few hours. Could just be placebo effect but somehow I don't seem to herx anymore - I just go straight to feeling better.
But yes I have had herx reactions within hours of taking an abx.

thanks for the responses, i just remember a lot of people saying herx hits around day four.
I feel it much faster and wondered if others were the same. it is good to know i am not the only one.
Desert wind how did you work yourself up to tolerating the abx better?
