Missed the first half day of the conference. Thought I would be there for the last hour, but my mapquest directions were off and I forgot to take my atlas. I did not attend the $100 dinner - would have been nice but that just wasn't in my budget.
Anyway, I have the downloaded files from the parts I missed that I need to read. I attended all of the Saturday sessions and left at 6:15 p.m. Slept for an hour at a rest stop about half way home and got back at 3:45 a.m. Sunday morning. The trip was 450 miles each way.
I need to review all the slides I downloaded from the presentations since most all of the speakers ran short on time and skipped many of their slides during their presentations. So there is more info than what was actually discussed.
Just a few of the interesting stats I learned.
Drexel University where the conference was held claims that one of every 61 physicians in practice in the U.S. was educated by them or one of their affiliated medical schools.
According to one presenter one of every two people in the U.S. has a chronic illness of some sort.
At least 2 ILADS docs said that only ten percent of their tickborne patients get IV meds. In my opinion, this does not indicate that only 10 percent need IV meds, but that only 10 percent can afford that treatment due to insurance restrictions etc.
I was very surprised by the low number of attendees at the conference. I think it was partly due to the fact that the conference did not seem to have much advance advertising. Quite a few of the attendees were Drexel students.
I was very tired and did not spend much time socializing. What few contacts I made in regards to my lawsuit were somewhat discouraging. No real new leads. Still have several things I need to follow up on.
Will post more info later this week.

Sorry I haven't gotten around to posting my notes yet. Maybe later this week.
Here is a pretty good newspaper article summarizing the conference.
