He wrote chapter 17 in surviving mold. in some ways his writings are very depressing to me...like there is no hope.
Because some ppl get so sick and now mold is worse than it was even out side and cross contamination is a such a problem you cant have many possessions or even a home
But now that i have finished the book i see all in all it is positive
Lyme is bad...cancer is bad...ms is bad,...but there are ways to make your life better if you have chronic illness and in this book eric tells you what worked for him
By the end of the book i realized i had experienced many things that erik did but the difference between us is somehow he was able to take the experiences and uses them to understand about mold and other toxins...so ways to deal with the problem are found
Good book. Hard to get thru at times...just like it is hard to live with lyme sometimes

read that book, but don't have it currently, and don't remember that chapter

Here is a free book about Erik's experiences. I don't think it's depressing.
The reason i said depressing is because it seems like you cant get well enough to live in any house. You can ony live in a tent in the desert.

I may be way off base. Im very foggy and not good with computers. I may have things he writes mixed up. No one should assume his writings are depressing because of me

I finished book and edited first post
There was a lot more positive than negative
It was very validating. I know i am.not the only one who experiences some wierd reactions when it comes to mold. And its not all in my head like some of the ppl closest to me would say

Is there any way of telling candida from a mold infection?
Posted by lpkayak (Member # 5230) on :
I thought there was a test for csndida. There are a nunber of tests for mold. If you read dr shoemakers books or go to his site or suppirt groups you can get the test. Most insurance pays for them if you can get your doc to order
The docs trained by shoemaker know how to interpret results andvtreat but they are expensive like llmds
You might want to start a post about candida. Many here know more than me

I don't know how to tell the difference, but the tests for candida are pretty lousy. It's important to know which symptoms to look for.
RealTimeLabs does a mycotoxin urine test. I presume that would show presence of mold, as differentiated from candida. Of course one could have both.
Not sure on the tests for candida, I feel like I've had them, but not sure if they're any good, don't even remember what they showed for me.

realtimelabs tests one way and this is another way...both are considered good by mold community from what i have read
Thanks a bunch. I have had candida stool tests but always came back negative. Long history of ATBX, anti-fungal herxes and carbs making me neuro are enough clues for me(tell a mainstream doc that), something fungal going on. Thank you again
