I was recently put on mepron, even though I tested negative for Babs, as well as levaquin was added to tackle my bart. I am also on doxy, azith and metro. Since mepron and levaquin were added, I have been feeling terrible for the past week since I started them. I have never really herxed in the past, but recently have profound fatigue and dizziness, neck pain and feeling as though a pill is caught in my throat, and upset stomach, not wanting to eat much. Is this similar to a herx, as I have never had one? Should i keep going or step back with them Thank you kindly

Are you taking enough liver support? Still, more than one of the Rx you take are ototoxic. And, I don't think any treatment is worth this. If it's making you this sick, something is very wrong with the treatment.
This is not a typical herx yet even if a herx, it's too much of one and it's in the danger zone, IMO.
Cut WAY back - or off - this weekend. Call your doctor on Monday and let them know. There must be more control to this approach. A herx should never be allowed to get this bad. And if it's some other reason, the doctor may be able to offer some clues.
Be sure to re-assess your liver / kidney support, too. -

Thanks for the reply. I get my liver enzymes checked regularly and they are always good, I am on support for them every day. I was on levaquin about 4 years ago for a short period of time and tolerated it well, but was not seeing any results, so was switched to rifampin. I was just wondering if it had something to do with the mepron, as i have never been treated for babs, and have never really herxed. Thanks again!

So, it may be that taking Levaquin with the Mepron will make the Levaquin less effective. I am assuming you are taking both each day.

That's not exactly what it says. Here is the quote:
"Except for the tetracycline antibiotic group, the fluoroquinolones are not generally used in combination with other antibiotics."
That doctor gave me metronidazole (flagyl) along with Levaquin. So, I am assuming that is OK.
Also, notice that tetracyclines are OK. Also, Mepron is not classified as an antibiotic, I don't think. So, I don't know about that. But, the Burrascano quote comes into play then anyway.
And, regarding Levaquin, I have taken it successfully a number of times. But, the warning still applies. At any point any one of us could get a totally horrible reaction to Levaquin. It seems to be that for each person if a certain level of buildup happens, then you can be floxed. So, don't want you to think that you are forever OK with Levaquin just because you successfully took it in the past. That's not the way it works.

I agree that the levaquin is the most likely culprit. You can sustain damage from it that is life-changing.

Yikes! I didn't realize all that was going on, I am now second guessing my LLMD. Do people take levaquin at all anymore?

As for the azithromycin you are also taking, sometimes that can really trigger the symptoms you describe, too, even if previously it did not.
As for the LLMD, these infections are very serious and the right combination of Rx can be the ticket.
It may be that your full liver & kidney support protocol did not get adequately conveyed, though, or that you need more support, less Rx . . . but something has to be altered here as it's not good to have this intense of a reaction. -

Yes, when I took Levaquin 10 years ago, the only other med I was on was flagyl.
It worked great. I got rid of my lyme and bart. Then, I moved on to treat babesiosis.
I have been free of these diseases for 10 years now. Praise God!

I didn't make a record of the supplements. I know I was on a good probiotic, the Body Ecology Diet (cultured vegetables daily), kefir, magnesium, and perhaps something else.
