This is the first time I've taken flagyl for longer than 4 days (usually pulsed 3 or 4 days at a time then a break).

Why did I get hit with such a strong herx on day 9? My herxes often never take 9 days to come on.

Are you taking flagyl for lyme or Bart right now?

What Bart symptoms are you dealing with at the moment?

Was day 9 around the 3-4 week mark for your Lyme growth cycles?

I notice I tend to herx harder during the Lyme growth cycles than in-between...

Flagyl for lyme & bart. And no I don't notice cycles of anything.

But flagyl has never done this to me (granted it was the longest I was on it).

You need to work up to taking flagyl for at least 14 days straight.

The longer you are on the flagyl, the more killing you are doing. Hence, the herx or stronger herx than you are used to.

As you kill more and more germs, the herxes will eventually get milder. But, you have to get up to at least 14 days of flagyl in a row.

It was Burrascano, I am almost positive, that said that this is the minimum length of time you have to take flagyl at one time for it to be effective for lyme.

I took it for 60 days straight. But, I didn't herx much at all.

Also, flagyl kills many things. Not only lyme but various other germs like c diff, parasites, etc. It kills bacteria and protozoa. So, for that reason, flagyl can cause sick feelings in many people who don't even have lyme.

So, perhaps you were also hitting something else that is inhabiting your body. Good for you.

I began flagyl with a SLIVER of a tablet and worked my way up. Go slowly.
