Hi,

DS24 been treating bartonella since Dec. 2014 with Rifampin / Biaxin...switched to Rifampin / Minocycline / Plaquenil 6 weeks ago.

Family doc did swap for strep and came back negative but Positive for Yeast in mouth.

I know once you start treatment for Bartonella your supposed to finish it out but seriously considering stopping all abx to treat yeast.

If its in his mouth I'm sure its everywhere...been on abx for over 5 years.

Maybe alot of psych symptoms (never any physical) are because of yeast. Has always been on probiotics and yeast support.

What do you think?

Hey frik!

I am doing that -- stopping antibiotics after over seven years and focusing on Candida for a time. I am also working to strengthen my adrenals and hope to go on to parasites and metal detox soon.

Without antibiotics i feel...the same! That makes me speculate that indeed most of the Lyme and co's have had their butts kicked.

My LLMD says my sweats, fatigue, cognitive problems and headaches are babesia symptoms, but after all these years of treatment, i think the only way to know for sure is to go off antibiotics -- and see if the symptoms get worse.

So, yes, I think Candida can cause a lot more problems than even LLMD' give it credit for. It is my belief that after all those years on antibiotics, your body could benefit from doing something different.

That is exactly what I did. After years of orals and IV I decided I had to stop sometime and see what would happen.

I realized I didn't go down hill unless I ate a lot of carbs and got constipated.

I have had a sever case of lyme and now have sever gut issues, the symptoms can easily be confused.

Diet and herxhiemers to either atbx or herxhiemers to antifungals could give you clues to what the problem is.

If I could go back in time I would have stopped atbx a lot sooner and see what would have happened, maybe my gut would have been better.

Atbx destroys the gut,it really needs to be addressed more for newbie lymies.

forgot to ask:

shoeless joe: did you have an improvement going off abx and treating the gut?

I did orals for years for lyme with no improvement, finally got on IV rocephin for eight months and I believe that took care of the lyme although I still felt sick.

I was tired of taking ATBX and just decided to see what would happen off Atbx.

I never went down hill,in fact things got a little better.

Lets face it,if the lyme is gone and you're left with gut issues then getting off atbx will help.

My gut symptoms can easily be confused with lyme, they are so similar but the difference is diet gives away if you have yeast or not and herxhiemers to antifungals.

This is no picnic where I am at but I would say yes I am better off ATBX.

If my diet and gut didn't give me clues and I just had steady decline after ATBX I would have gotten back on atbx,

So many decisions as to whats ailing us,we need better diagnosing.

Psych issues are very often associated with gut health. You are on the right path!
