Hi all,

Just wanted to run past you guys my Babesia treatment plan. LLMD and I have decided to go after Babs first, then Lyme.

Luckily I have no Babs symptoms right now and I think I only have Microti, not Duncani.

Trying to avoid antibiotics unless necessary. Plan for now is this:

Every day: 250/100mg Malarone twice per day
Monday-Thurs: Cryptolepis 15 drops each day
Fri-Sun: Artemisinin 300mg each day

Thoughts? If that doesn't seem to do the trick LLMD suggested Mepron + Zith.

Looks good, but it is my understanding that you need to be on zith with both malarone and mepron.

See Burrascano, top of page 24:

Yes, I would want zith with artemisinin, malarone, or mepron.

Or, clindamycin with mepron.

Thanks for the replies. Is it safe to take Mepron/Malarone daily for 4-5 months?? As long as liver enzymes are under control is it ok? Or is there long term risk such as mitochondria damage etc?

This is the treatment that the top notch lyme doctors give. They would not give it if it weren't safe.

You test liver enzymes monthly. This way, if YOUR liver can't handle the meds, you stop them. There are other meds to treat babs, but this is the preferred treatment because it is successful most often and most rapidly.

You may have to treat much longer than 4-5 months. That is really the minimum treatment because of the life span of the red blood cell (the cell that is infected by babs).
