It also depends on what your antibiotic treatment is.
I didn't herx on just doxy. I never herxed until I was put on two high-dose antibiotics together. That was amoxi and flagyl in my case.
I was on high-dose amoxi for 2 years and never herxed.
So, I treated lyme for 2 years before I got my first herx. If the treatment doesn't kill much, you won't herx.
Flagyl virtually guarantees a herx. Burrascano says that also.

In another post you said:
" So I'm on doxycycline (100mg 2x daily) for first seven days and then doubling that amount after 7 days (200mg 2x day). I believe he wants to add Tindamax next if the doxycycline goes well."
You very likely will not herx until the Tindi is added. Then, by about day 3 you should have your first herx.

Just finished 2nd week. No real changes in how I feel. Wonder if the battle is taking place yet? Posted by Judie (Member # 38323) on :
I improved without a noticeable herx. Not everyone goes through hell to improve.
About a year into treatment when I started levaquin, I thought I was having my first herx. Instead it was a severe, adverse drug reaction.

I took clindamycin and herxed a month later.

For me it was day 3, but it was mostly brain fog and fatigue that was worse.
Then a month later after adding another antibiotic, hit me hard with flu-like illness.
I had no response on doxy, but I did feel worse off it.
