"My ultimate diagnosis was an inflamed temporalis muscle."

Not only do you want a sed rate, you also want a C-reactive protein test (CRP).
If the CRP is high, that indicates inflammation. If you have temporal arteritis, you should have a high level of inflammation in your body.
If these blood tests indicate possible temporal arteritis, then you get the ultrasound of your temporal arteries. It is officially called a temporal artery duplex. They will check both arteries for inflammation.
Randi, I really hope that you don't have temporal arteritis because it is a serious condition.
Why not also start looking for a dentist who treats TMJ who also treats temporal tendonitis. If he will give you an injection and it clears or at least helps the symptoms, that proves the diagnosis is temporal tendonitis. Temporal tendonitis can be triggered by a fall.
TMJ problems can cause excruciating pain also. I have a girlfriend who was admitted to the hospital for 3 days for her TMJ pain because the pain would not relent and it was unbearable.
She finally found the TMJ dentist who does injections for temporal tendonitis and he is treating her (not with injections but with a dental insert) and she is now pain free. So, TMJ pain can be extremely severe. It also can be brought on by a fall.
It will likely be difficult to find one of these dentists near you. Start by searching for dentists who treat TMJ. Then, call the ones who treat TMJ to see if they also treat temporal tendonitis with injections of serapin.
Serapin is not a steroid, so that is what you want.

All of your symptoms really sound like temporal tendonitis. It affects the eyes and ears just as you have described, plus the neck and shoulders and everything else you have said.

i can't help it. I'm scared, really scared.
I haven't felt good since that fall. it was my left side. the edge of the tub was wet. when I put my hand on it, it slipped forward and my breast and side slammed against the tub. that broke three ribs. my neck snapped forward and I fell. I was sitting trying to get up so I didn't have a big ole fall but I hit with all force.
I know I obsess but I can't help it. I start imaging all kinds of things then husband gets mad and starts yelling at me. then more stress and tension and the cycle starts again.
I can feel my neck and shoulders getting hard and I can't relax.
things in ohio are even more screwed up than I could have ever imagined. it's horrendous.
so I'm jus going around crying cause I feel so helpless.

Well, a fall will not cause temporal arteritis.
Also, get the doc to order physical therapy for you. I got that after the injections. It REALLY helped the neck pain, etc. I couldn't believe how it helped.

Have you seen a good chiropractor - that is, if you can, with your neck situation - and a cranial massage person? I can see symptoms landing in both their areas of expertise.
If your head bones are out of place, that can cause an awful lot of face pain, including dental. That's the expertise of a cranial massage person.
Can't remember whether you've tried mangosteen juice for your eyes?

- Exactly.
randi .. Call around tomorrow and find a good cranial-sacral therapist. They can do wonders.

"I can feel my neck and shoulders getting hard and I can't relax."
This is muscle spasm, a symptom of low magnesium. Besides taking magnesium and eating foods high in mag, you can treat the painful areas of your body with PEMF.
When I've used the SOTA Magnetic Pulser on muscle spasms, they released right away.
Plus...you could take it along to Ohio and use it on your sister's knees. It speeds healing dramatically, following surgery.
It will reduce inflammation in your face, throat, scalp.
