I'm a 44 year old single mom of 2, completely alone due to deadbeat dad. Found out a week ago I have left bundle branch block of the heart w/ borderline left ventricular enlargement. One of the causes can be Lyme. Pretty sure that's it, although I've had Bartonella co too. I am scheduled for a stress echo in about a month. They had to wait because I just had a total hysterectomy. I had felt like I could finally have my life back after a fibroid the size of a 20 week pregnancy removed. I felt awesome. A week later, after 2 + years of remission, my Lyme symptoms are coming back for a 4th time and my calves and right arm have been swelling. Would you pray they don't and that I don't have further heart disease. God bless all you lyme warriors!

Wow. Very sorry to hear!
Lyme can come out of the woodwork after surgery, so it is my guess that is what happened. Can you get back on treatment?
Will pray that they can help you!! The heart stuff can get really scary.

I'm praying for you. I know what it's like to relapse. I also have heart problems, but they are much better now.

I appreciate the prayers. I wondered if it was the surgery too, but thought since it's been almost 2 months it was probably just stress that brought it. Had a stressful job interview and the heart worry. I can get back on treatment, I just worry about what doing abx over and over is doing to me. I also still battle yeast even after 2 years of no abx so my gut is probably obliterated. I am a carboholic. It is my biggest stronghold and I have not been able to overcome it. There are times I wish I had a loving spouse, this would be one of them.

Loving spouses or any other kind of human support can be scarce for chronic illness patients. If you are anywhere near a support group, that might help. If not, we are here for you.

If you are a carboholic .. blame the yeast. If you can get the yeast under control it will help immensely.
I know how hard that is!!

one of my drs just gave me Candicid Forte yeast cleanse. he said it really works. waiting to try...
I hope you get answers and relief. I will pray for you to heal in all ways

I really appreciate the prayers and support. I need to get into overeaters anonymous or something to overcome my addiction.

You might also have your thyroid function checked. By someone who doesn't just go on TSH lab results. I assume you will have your hormones adjusted because of the hysterectomy? Sex hormones and thyroid hormones when maladjusted can also cause weight gain.

I did. It was 3.93. I still have my ovaries. It seems like nobody tests for all the thyroid #s...

I have same issue with thyroid. I cannot lose weight no matter, and my hair falls out sometimes. I can't find a dr that does anything .
what is the right way to test thyroid?
Posted by Pushingthru (Member # 28734) on :
I am hypothyroid by the way and take .88 levothyroxin.

So sorry you are going through this. You and all those who are ill are always in my prayers on a daily basis. This disease is awful and takes a terrible toll on those suffering with it as well as their loved ones.
Here are some MO Lyme Support Groups you might want to contact for support and help:
I don't know if you are under the care of a LLMD, but you are very fortunate to have one of the top LLMDs right there in MO. I sent you his name & contact info.
I'm not aware if there are any Lyme-literate Cardiologists in your state, but maybe the MO Support Groups or LLMD could refer you to someone. I have a few names, but they are on the East Coast.
For uplifting, encouraging, life-changing music, listen to KLOVE (on FM radio). You can also listen online anytime by going to their home page on www.klove.com and clicking "Listen Online" on the upper right-hand side.
I don't know what city you are in, but you can check out and find which one is closest to you by looking on the homepage where it says, "Find A Radio Station" located in the upper-middle part under the photo/video.
Btw - please break up your posts into 2-3 sentence paragraphs, as there are people on Lymenet who cannot read large blocks of text due to neurological problems from Lyme.
To do this click on the pencil/paper icon, make your changes, then click "Edit Post". Thanks.

Pushingthru,
I feel bad for not noticing/responding to your post about your tsh being 3.93 until now. That's way too high and could be causing, or at least contributing to your heart problems.
Once you are diagnosed with hypothyroidism, it's ideal to keep the tsh between 1-2, but at least under 3.0
I also have hypothyroidism and my heart goes completely out of wack (meaning very abnormal EKGs) when my thyroid levels are low, as in tsh above 2.
You might ask your doctor if he/she can bump your thyroid meds up and at least get your tsh to below 3

You know, I did but she said it was within normal range so she wouldn't. I think I'm going to get a new doc.
