Thank god no symptoms yet for my 2-yr old and we are seeing an LLMD on 10/13. The bullseye appeared on 9/8 so we are about one month since.

He's tested negative to two tests from his primary care physician and has blood work at stonybrook right now.

He was on a little more than 2 weeks of amoxicillin before his allergy kicked in.

Not sure what happens next but we'll see. I'm a bit worried about all the antibiotics and the possible long term effects but I know everyone will say beating the lyme is the first concern. Hopefully the LLMD will recommend foods and herbs to combat the negative effects of the antibiotics.

That allergy if it was a reaction to amox it might have been a herx reaction, which means the abx is killing the infection and it is the die off that is causing the allergy reaction. Not sure if this is the case with your child but wanted to bring that up.

Keep him on something. With him being so young becareful about the teeth discoloration issue with the doxy and minocyclines.

Not sure were you are but there are a few LLMDs who treat kids. If you would like PM me and I can send you what I gathered for our then 9 year old.

Good luck. Read all and everything you can. It will be a long road but you and your child will be fine.

Oh, it always breaks my heart to hear about Lyme in little ones :-( Wishing you and your son all the best!

It doesn't matter that he's tested negative. The bullseye rash already proves that he has Lyme.

He'll be fine, though. Kids are resilient and beat Lyme much more easily than adults :-)

I'd make sure to use good probiotics and focus on herbal treatment as much as possible.

My daughter caught lyme at the age of 1. Bite on the head.

She went to amoxy from day 2, when we found the tick. She couldn't take doxy.

Amoxy is very limited. It did nothing to her, only destroyed her gut. She got much worse after amoxy.

Her gut took us months to get back again well.

We used amoxy later, at the age of 3 or 4, when she got bitten again. This time, for 5 weeks.

It again didn't solve lyme, and again, it took her gut many months to recover.

Now we never use abx anymore, even though she is now old enough to take doxy. We have other ways to deal with lyme and coinfections, and abx is the last thing we choose (just in case there's nothing else working).

She had too many digestive problems, and when they start, her life turned into hell: no remedy, no food stayed in, and that was much worse than lyme, in the end.

Probiotics work a bit, let's say, 10% improvement. But they stop being useful soon...

I find herbs (like Buhner herbs) much better for kids. And photons + nosodes, of course: that is what took us both out of lyme hell.

Wishing you good luck for your toddler.

All my kids have had bites and have been treated properly by my LLMD in CT. My oldest is allergic to amoxy and this last time was on Ceftin suspension for 2 months with her bullseye.

This is right from Burrascano's guide.
