I had my gallbladder out 6 days ago, last thursday.

I am still suffering from my most scary symptom: my pancreas hurts under my left rib and there's a sensation going into my back.

I am scared I have developed pancreatitis. My GP/LLMD said that this would go away after gallbladder removal. He said it would clear itself up. Is six days just not enough time to expect it to recover? I am scared to death of chronic pancreatitis. My MRI didnt show damage to my pancreas. I know that doesn't matter though because you can still have pancreatitis even with a clean MRI.

Sounds like you've gone through a lot with this. I don't know much at all about pancreatitis. Perhaps you could call your GP/LLMD and/or your gallbladder surgeon to let them know your concerns. They might be able to give you information that will help reduce you fears.

Best wishes, hope you feel better soon.

I called my surgeon's office. They said see how it feels until my follow up appointment 10/28.

I don't think the medical community has a good understanding about pancreatitis, which is scary to say and shocking. From what I understand it is a long road to diagnosis and not a real common problem. I do know some lymies here have some knowledge of it. Just hoping to talk to someone and gather some opinions.

I am praying that this calms down. Feel like my life is over.

Analyze all medications you are taking. Any chemicals you are ingesting will affect you adversely.

Be careful about drinking sodas, using artificial sweeteners .. everything.

What do you mean? What kind of chemicals?

Anything artificially colored is a chemical, anything with an artificial flavoring is a chemical, all drugs are chemicals.

Any one of those or all of the above could be aggravating your pancreas (if indeed there is a problem there.)

Clean up your diet and see how you feel.
