Hi all! Wanted some thoughts on treatment using Dr. C in NY for any who has had experience with him. Would also like info on how to get a PICC line inserted.

Do I receive a script from say doctor and take it randomly to a hospital and ask them to insert them. The person has gone through Flagyl Mephron and antoviquone as well as the pair ups of azithromyacin and doxy 1 year to no improvement.

Was given IGENX test and supposedly is Positive to Lyme indicating an issue with the bone marrow as well. Please help as now we are pulling straws. The only thing left would now be IV antibiotics.

This person has severe neurological damage due to "mini strokes" I guess from babesia? Currently the babesia has surfaced and they are experiencing Dysphagia, slurring and just overall out of it.

Lack of communication. Taking her to doctors reports are ok to them but I know there is something wrong.

I never had a PICC line so I can't help you. Hopefully, someone else will see this and help out!

When I had my PICC line, the ordering Doctor put it in inside of a sterile environment using an ultrasound to see the veins and my heart.

If I'm understanding your message correctly, are you saying that this person's doctor is of no help/unresponsive?

You need a doctor's order to do this. A freestanding radiology place would be the cheapest, but hospitals will do it with an order, and there are even a few doctor's offices where they have someone come in to install a picc.

And of course you are going to need IV antibiotics prescribed. Keep in mind that insurance will generally not pay for more than a month, so self pay is the next step.

I have a doctor in ny that goes by the name of Dr. C. You all might suspect who I am talking about (Grandfather) . I live 2hr drive from him and Ive inquired how to go about this. He says I need to find a place to do this or somewhere to go. Its quite amazing as I receive no feedback from a professional. I have no problem with self pay after "trial" is up. I want to take this person to a hospital and have it done correctly. Do I pick up the phone to the hospital at outpatient and schedule this if I were to get the order from the Dr.? ty merry xmas

Have you read Dr. H's book "Why can't I get better?"

I would highly recommend it. It is a great resource. You will likely find new ideas not considered before and treatments much needed.

You asked about getting a PICC line. If a doctor prescribed one for you, they typically fax the order to a hospital. Then central scheduling at the hospital will call you to set up the appt for placement. Doctors don't leave this stuff up to you to figure out!

Honestly, I would NOT recommend getting the PICC line yet. Your friend/ loved one has only been on a limited few antibiotics so far, there are many more to try!

Also, has your friend/ loved one tried strong combos such as 2 intracellular antibiotic, 1 cell wall antibiotic, + malarone?

Also, the more recent Lyme persister studies have shown that pulsing some antibiotics can kill Lyme more effectively. You Doctor should know more about this.

Then you need to remember to support the body so it can heal. (Dr.H book will give you great information for that too).

Whatever you decide to do with your treatment, I wish you best.

Merry Christmas!
