I know people who've been around a while know this or suspect it strongly, but as I was poking around looking for an explanation for sky high TGF beta 1 I ran across this:

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/1333393

The researchers had no doubt that Lyme and Sarcoidosis were the same disease.

Yep. The authors from another continent have known this for 23 years now. The IDSA just wants to deny it and hand out steroids which can make other symptoms worse and require additional Rx for lifetime to mask pain, etc.

This is interesting because recent testing showed that my angiotensin converting enzyme was high. This is indicative of sarcoidosis from what I have been reading.

I wonder if this is common in those with chronic illness of any type - or if more common in chronic Lyme or tick borne illnesses. I haven't gone over the results with my doctor yet.
