I am in my 3rd month of IV treatment. I have been told first symptoms in are the last ones out.
I used to get this weird brain activity that feels like electrical waves or zaps in my brain.
I had an 8th month headache that finally ended 3 weeks ago.
Now the waves and zaps are back, my hands are trembling and body feels like I am having a panic attack.It is not a "real panic" compared to 30 years ago.
Does this sound like progress? Has anyone else had these weird brain sensations?
I do have lesions and my CSF has shown only my protein level to be through the roof.

The fact your headache of 8 months is gone, yes, it sounds like progress to me!
As for the zaps...
Yes, typically first symptoms that appeared are the last to go. I have no clue why- no one does- but it seems to be an accurate description based on patient reports over the years.
So, could the zaps be that "old" feeling coming back, or, could it be toxins?
Toxins can cause neuro zips and zaps, trembling and that panicked body feeling.
I can't say for sure what it is, but it does sound like you are improving.
If it doesn't subside or go away soon, please ask your doctor his/her opinion. They may want you to do some pulsing if it stays like that or gets worse.
You shouldn't have to suffer through the herxes.

I had this in the middle of my first herx -- about a month in. I had had so many symptoms by then they didn't really bother me; actually I was relieved, sort of like - oh, something is happening, good.
Somehow I equated it with getting better.
It used to happen in bed at night, along with a sort of weird body convulsion. Not the full on convulsions you see in the scary movies on youtube, but obvious enough to me.
Eventually they quit, and came back very very mildly in my first five days of trying Bactrim.
I think it might be more a coinfection that does this and not actual Lyme; but who knows.

Hold the presses.
My IV nurse was here yesterday and I explained her these sensations in my brain. How I had them my entire life and how during what a call my "nuts" period they were at there most intense.
This nurse had a brain tumor removed years ago. She explained she also had these zaps and waves during her recovery. She said they felt like little strokes. Her feeling it is just the brain is rewiring itself as it recovers from injury.
I also get these zaps and waves when I miss Paxil for a couple of days.So as I have not missed Paxil, my brain chemistry must also be changing too.
So the "nuts" period of waves and zaps was my brains degradation. I pray these new one are my brain healing.
