just wondering has anyone here gotten a hair analysis done to gauge the levels of heavy metals/trace elements in their body?
I just had one complete and some of the findings were somewhat surprising
it shows high Manganese levels, borderline high Iron [very surprising as standard blood work shows borderline low] high Lithium, [this is very puzzling as I cannot figure where the exposure is coming from] possibly water source
thankfully Mercury showed up low, [12 dental amalgams in my mouth since the mid 80's]
what do people think of the hair analysis procedure as a true marker?

Hair analysis shows what your body is excreting, not what your body is using, hiding, or storing. However, the ratios can show you something (I can't remember what specifically, but just that the ratio of one thing to another shows how you're body is functioning).

I agree with Sixgoofykids that you can't take hair test results at face value, because they show what you were excreting at that time rather than what you have stored. When mercury is low, this does not mean that you haven't got much in your body necessarily, I was told, as metals have their own order of excretion.

is there a better way to test for metals than hair analysis?
