I was given 2 additional medicines to add to my regiment from my LLMD today. Could I get your opinion?

Currently been on:

Zithromax
Bicillin shots

he is now adding

Minocycline
Tindamax

Is this too many meds or right approach? Will this be too difficult to handle?

they all have a different mechanism of action

as to whether it is too much, I don't second guess lyme docs

I will say that you are probably not doing bicillin shots every day, and possibly the tindamax will be pulsed

probably good to start out with just one of the new things at a time, see what the reaction is

keep in mind that your treatment so far has probably knocked down the bacterial load somewhat so the herx might be less than expected, but don't power thru a bad herx. stop the meds if it is too much to handle, then regroup

Thanks so much. Doc wanted to do tindamax 500mg daily for two weeks then twice daily for four weeks. Thinking I may go back to him to see if we can pulse this though....

Anything I should add for bio films?

Tindamax is supposed to be good for helping break down biofilms. Systemic enzymes on an empty stomach can break down biofilms and help with coagulation (lumbrokinase, serrapeptase, nattokinase, wobenzyme, bromelain, etc). There are herbs that can help with biofilm as well, cistus incanus makes a lovely tea.

Tindamax is usually pulsed at least two weeks at a time. I've been put on it continuously before (by llmd). It's a good one for me so I stay on 3 weeks at a time.

Your combo is very much like mine, except I take a couple more. Had had a lot of doxy early on and been on bicillin a while before adding the mino. My bacterial load had been lowered a lot, but I still had a little bit of neuro die off sx with the mino. Nothing worse than a mild flare, just enough I knew it was hitting something.

Backing off the meds is always a good idea if die off gets to be too much. I think the current toxic burden has as much to do with handling herxes as bacterial loads. Keep lemons in your drinking water and always be working on detoxing if you're getting herxes.

Tindamax really helped, however, I had no idea the time that it causes peripheral neuropathy.

If you have any increase in pain, it might be that drug.

so Judie what do I do because I already have peripheral neuropathy in my legs.. Any suggestions on how to protect against it or prevent? I really want to use Tindamax but I'm very concerned about that. What about lower dosage?

Wow.. that is a big concern for sure. I can no longer take flagyl or tindamax due to it causing nerve pain.

Did it cause permanent nerve pain for you Lymetoo or did it go away? Doc agreed to pulse the med every 3 days for me.

Up. I am concerned about Flagyl for the same reason. My neuropathy is severe and has gotten much worse during treatment. I am concerned about adding the Flagyl. I am wondering if I am having some sort of autoimmune response.

While I was taking tinidazole and fluconazole I developed neuropathies. Still have neuropathic pain even though I stopped those meds about a year ago.

Be careful -- stop at first sign of numbness or pain.

I too was on all those drugs (except bicillian) - I thought Tindamax was a wonder drug. They all made me sick but dropped a symptom or two while on them.

I had zithro with mepron, then malarone.

Was lucky to not have neuropathy - did lose some hearing in my ear due to one of the ABX along the way.
