Just finished my 3rd day of flagyl. First day took 375 mg, second day took 500 mg, today took 750 mg. Also taking Amoxil and Bactrim.

I'm having no trouble tolerating this, except it might be making me more emotional (maybe). Actually, it's making me feel stimulated, like caffeine or something. It's weird, I really didn't expect that.

Does that happen to people or am I just a weirdo?

How often do they have you taking the Flagyl? Have you ever tried Tindamax?

I'm supposed to take 250mg 3x daily 3 days a week. I think I might try two weeks on two weeks off though. Not sure.

I've never tried tindamax.

Just a word of warning: The general advice is to use Flagyl no longer than 10 days, unless your doctor says otherwise.

Prolonged use can cause nerve disorders, numbness or tingling in the arms or legs or coordination problems such as gait abnormalities.
Taking Flagyl for longer periods can also promote the growth of cancer. By using the drug no longer than 10 days, the risk is virtually absent.

Thanks Notti. I did 4 days and I don't think my yeast can take much more than 4 days at a time. I've read about people doing 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off, but I don't think that's gonna work for me. One doc wanted me on it every day with no breaks at one point.

I'm wondering if I'm one of those people that just doesn't herx. I've herxed before, but maybe my immune system is too shot to herx now. I dunno. But I don't think I'm herxing with this flagyl.

Some people just don't have a Herxheimer reaction.
But if you are making progress, however small and slowly it may be, you are on the right track.
