I have had labcorp tests for babesia and Lyme and my Lyme western blot was not cdc positive but I did have some bands show up that were indicative of Lyme, I believe three showed up. I also had an igg positive test for babesia microti. I have gone through four years of antibiotics with no improvement. I've often wondered if what I have is Lyme. Is there something that Igenex test could tell me that my other tests couldn't have? Like I was wondering if Igenex can test for active infection? I just don't want to waste a bunch of money on an Igenex test if it's just going to tell me something that I already know.

Have you been on anti-malarial drugs for the babesia?

Three bands on a standard WB plus babesia sounds pretty indicative of Lyme to me.

But maybe you have some other infection that has not been adequately addressed on top of these two....CPN, mycoplasma, viruses, parasites, etc?

That may be where you want to put your money.

If you really want to know for sure, get a borrelia culture. I think they're called Advanced Labs.

The one drawback to the culture is that it can take months to grow. But if you've been at this four years then you might as well get the best info you can.
