I used it for about three months. I think it was like five hundred something.
It didn't do much for me, but then again, I don't seem to respond to other antibiotics/antiparasitics either.
I would say it is worth a try, but I would get it from Canada as it is EXTREMELY expensive here in the states. I got mine from Singapore I believe. It seemed to be the same as the samples I took. (at least the both made me nauseous.)
Best wishes and be well!

I was on it with the combo LYme treatment. I had a hard time with it (felt really gross), but assumed it was Herx. Oddly, after about 6 weeks by eyes became yellow (like bright yellow) and i was taken off it at that point. Apparently that is one of the possible side effects.
What i understood about it at the time is it's a hard core bug buster but if you can handle it, it will very def help get you well.

Alinia is normally used for parasites, but it is supposedly a fairly broad-spectrum anti-protozoal med from what I have gathered.
I saw a recent study where it showed it was very effective (like 99% if I remember correctly)for killing toxoplasma apicomplexans in astrocytes. So, it gets them in the neuro cells, too.
Amazingly, it also has anti-viral effects, as well as anti-bacterial. So, a very good all-around antimicrobial pharmaceutical.
It is more effective than Flagyl or Vanco for C-diff.
Oh, yes, it also has some cyst-killing effects on borrelia, so it can be used like Tindamax or Flagyl. I have not read any comparison studies though.
From what I have read, toxicology is almost zero, with high doses causing no bad side effects (consider herxes and die-off, though); and drug interactions are almost zilch. So, a very safe med.....one I really like and tolerate extremely well.
A great safe drug to consider if treating for protozoa, but a little caution should be used if also infected with borrelia, since it does kill cysts, which would cause a conversion to ketes. I personally feel it is wise that a person also be on some type of spirocheticidal agent when using it, particularly if one's lyme symptoms are flaring.

good input TNT, that is what my dr. told me. I didn't know it was good for toxoplasma though!! that was so good to hear, because recently, I was wondering I don't have this.
I have grown up with cats/ kitties so much, and they can give you this.
Hopefully my round of Alinia took care of that idea. (although, it didn't help me in the end) Grrrr

Thanks foxy, lili, norcal,Thanks tnt . You are the bomb...recent blood test said i had toxoplasmosis but i am wondering if it is proto or babs..
just got some giemsa stain gunna check it out ...baby doses have me really emotional ,depersonalyzed and generally wigging out ...pulsing rocephin /zith/venom for kete form. Foxy- web says toxo has to be treated with mepron/ sulfa drug indefinitely .... bactrim kicked this off last year hmmm

hmm interesting bluelyme. I did consume Bactrim for a few years without any success. Maybe I should try this combo... I would be surprised if I didn't have toxoplasmosis. I heard it is quite common.
The only abx that helped me for a few months was metronidazole. I am weird.

One llmd thinks flagyl is for ketes and others are for cyst .we got it all backwards..tf only got better after metro.hmm llmd asked if i wanted iv flagyl whew sounds ruff

If you haven't tried flagyl yet, I would give it a try. That stuff worked like a charm for me for a while and so many others say its the best abx out there for lyme.
