But we didn't discuss cyst busters, which Lymenet thinks is crucial to success on Rocephin.
I think I am on a a couple different herbal cyst busters, like grapefruit seed extract and I'd have to check all the other herbal components (A-BART, A-BAB, BLt, and a cryptolepis-sida acuda-alcornea blend, mlik thistle).
Do I really need a pharmaceutical cyst buster? I'm trying to keep my liver happy only doing a few drugs at a time, of course. Are there other things (enzymes?) I should take? Thanks.

Anyone know of any literature or posts on this?

I just switched from tinidazole to alinia but it is not real well understood..it was theorized that it was one type of gse with the preservatives that was being effective . Also that it doesnt go outside the gi tract ...
a recent look at this site claims to breakdown calcification of biofilm . On lumenet euro they think there s no such thing as cystic form. On lyme doc says flagyl is for spiros and rocephin is for cystic.
Do the shots hurt?...

Maybe your LLMD is going to add in a cyst buster later.

GSE is a popular cyst buster. I've read that Serrapeptase and Bromelain are cyst busters but you'd have to research it to be sure. You could google "herbal cyst buster" and see what comes up.

tulips - right. I know it's a cyst buster, but I don't know if it's strong enough relative to pharmaceuticals to pair with rocephin. I'll look into the relative strengths of the others you suggest!
bluelyme - They had me do a shot in the office so they could make sure I wasn't allergic. The shot was not painful going in (they use lidocaine as the carrier or whatever), but I still have a sore spot on my bum today - 48h later.
So, when I'm doing this 4x/week, I guess I'll be sore constantly!
I actually had a *great* day yesterday, but also weekends tend to be better because I can sleep in. Fingers crossed it continues.
I'll be on Alinia in a few weeks for 14 days as a part of a parasite protocol (Dr. K's?) so hopefully that will help break everything up.
Thanks for these thoughts!

Serrapeptase is a biofilm buster. In simple terms it poked holes in the biofilms to allow abx to get in. Then the next higher strength one is nattokinase which breaks them down even more. Be careful if you have a high bacterial load before you start breaking up biofilms. I tried the serrapeptase and had to put it in the "try again later drawer" as I flared so much from just a few doses. Of course everyone is different. Listen to your doctor, but then adjust if your body tells you otherwise. We know our bodies and symptoms better than they do.

And btw Alinia worked great for me! My doctor used to refer to it as liquid gold. I believe it helps with more than just parasites. I did have to adjust the dose though from 500 2x/ day to 250 2x/day.
